I took it off my blog months ago, and I've only had 2 spam comments since then, and I just deleted them.

I also recommend to other bloggers that your settings be set to show the full feed. (From your Google Dashboard, go to Layout, click Settings tab, select Site Feed, make sure Allow Blog Feeds drop-down menu says "Full".) This shows your full blog post in a reader and increases the likelihood of people reading and commenting on your post. If only a shortened version is provided, people might skip over it.
