This piece of driftwood was my inspiration.
I chose paint colors in the khaki, sand, driftwood, grays and raw umber palette.
I drew out my pattern.
Then I cut it up so I could trace a line onto the fabric.
So what am I doing–I am painting this sun faded Directors chair, that I grabbed at a garage sale for $15
I mixed all of the paint with the DECOART medium for fabric. Once it has air dried for a day, I will heat seal it with my iron. I can not wait to try it out, they say your fabric will be soft. I still have the seat to do.
I painted a driftwood boat on the back rest.
I just love how the driftwood came out.

Love the boat Cheri! What a cute way to spruce up a chair. You did a fabulous job painting that! Hope you are enjoying your weekend! Thanks for hosting! ~ Stephanie Lynn
This looks terrific Cheri! What a fun, beachy way to transform your great director’s chair find! $15 hey? That’s super!! But so much better with the painted boat on it. The driftwood hull and mast are perfect!!

Super cute. It’s even better on a faded chair, don’t you think?

Love your boat! What a wonderful and creative idea! Have a blessed day, hugs!
I considered leaving it faded but then I decided to paint the entire thing. The back and sides were faded almost to a white and so itneeded all redone.

Thanks everyone–I really love it, next I want to make a real driftwood boat. We went to the beach but only found a few small pieces. When I mentioned going to the beach to look for driftwood my husbvand said NO. He thought I meant a whole tree. I just want a piece around 24 inches.

That looks awesome!
