I still breaks my heart to know of all the families that were lost and separated that day. But it also makes me proud to hear of all the stories of people putting aside deferences to help one another when they needed it most. It is my hope that we never forget and that we all realize that we are one.

My girls were at school and the kids weren’t told what had happened in the lower grades. The kids knew something was up because of their teachers’ demeanor. So many unbelievable images…We were all New Yorkers that day.

I woke up and came out of the bedroom with her to find my parent’s watching t.v. My Dad said that my husband had called from work that morning and told them to turn on the television but not to wake me up. As I stood there I saw the second plane crash into the second tower. It was unbelievable. Surreal.

And what saddens me most is how easily we forget. Just like the Israelites.
