My great niece

by CHERI on September 26, 2011

One of the hardest part of living away from family is going back and seeing how much they have grown or how much has changed.

We were back in the Midwest for the summer and got to meet our newest great niece. Our nephew and niece had recently had a new baby.

She was a sweet precious gift from God. You see they had been trying for several years.

When I saw this vinyl over at Design Divas I knew it was just perfect for them.

Being away from home I did not have my stash of supplies but thakfully my in-laws live on some land and my father-in-law is always working on projects and has stashes of wood.

When I mentioned going to one of the barns to grab a piece of wood…

My father-in-law went to a different barn and grabbed a piece of beautiful cherry wood that he had.

The wood was so pretty I just applied the vinyl to the sanded wood.

I thought it was the perfect saying for them.

Later on that day we had a hot dog roast and made s’mores.

You can head over to the DIY Club to see the vinyl monograms that I did for my two sweet nieces’ rooms.

We sure do miss the Midwest.  We haven’t been back in Florida for a month yet and we can hardly wait to get back there.

While traveling back we stayed at a Country Inn and Suites. Have you ever stayed at one. It was our first time. We got a suite in an effort to have enough sleeping room for everyone. The room was very nicely decorated. We had a kitchenette area with a frige, microwave, coffee pot….the normal stuff.
I do have to say that the hide-a-bed was way too hard to sleep on though so in the long run we could have saved some money on a regular 2 bed room.

The big boys were going to sleep on it but once I laid on it I had to agree that they would not get a good night sleep. They begged to share one of the queen sized beds with their little brother and we kept Miss G4 in a bed with us. It was a little tight but it wasn’t too bad. (Someone needs to design a hide-a-bed that is soft and comfy.)

They had a hot breakfast served down by the lobby. We ate and were off again for our next lap of the trip.
Afterall it does take a good 24 hours to get back.

Beautiful family! I love it that you put the saying on wood, never thought of doing that! Thanks for the tip! Have a blessed day, HUGS!

Aw, babies!!!!
As to staying at a Country Inn and Suites, yes, we have stayed at one of those. It was quite nice. I believe it was after my hubby refused to stay at the hotel I had booked online, ’cause the neighborhood was questionable. It is funny, NOW!
