Its So Very Creative

by CHERI on June 6, 2010

It’s been a busy weekend. I have planted tomato plants, a strawberry plant (at the request of G3) and some herbs. Has anyone ever planted Stevia? What did you use it for? My kids wanted to try it so we did.

I have been working on a Father’s Day project for my man, plus several other projects. I still need to download my camera so I will try to have some pictures for you by tomorrow.

Thanks for hosting again. I’ve never tried Stevia. Let me know how it goes and what you use it for.

I have used a lot of stevia but I haven’t grown it. Sorry no help here. I am sure you can google it or something.

So funny you should mention stevia. I asked my husband to pick some up at the store yesterday to use as a sugar substitute, but he came home telling me it cost upwards of $20 a box! I’m unsure of what you do with it straight from the garden, though. 🙂

Thanks so much for hosting!

Thanks for the party Cheri. I haven’t grown stevia but I have bought some from Trader Joe’s in a powder form. I used it to sweeten my coffee. (-:

We are trying tomatoes too…we don’t have much sun, and a lot of raccoons…so we’ll see. We use stevia as a sweetener, but not sure what to do with it straight from the plant…I am intrigued.

We have crazy Racoons too, opposum, fruit rats (from all the fruit trees around–we keep the oranges off the ground) and armadillos–creaps me out. We don;t have many squirrels or rabbits here–it must be too hot, We have a fish pond in the back yard and I think the racoons have made a meal of the fish, almost all are gone. It’s either the racoons or all the birds around here. We are so close to the gulf, plus we are right on one of the subdivision lakes and golf course . We have to keep the kids away from the lake–gators.
I thought about doing those hanging tomato plants. I may have to come up with a creative cover for them.
