My Ramblings and my next Do it yourself project

by CHERI on June 14, 2009

OK so it is day 8 of waking up with a headache, pinched nerve in my neck and my back hurting. My husband thinks it’s because of my weight loss and my muscles re-adjusting-I say IT HURTS. I can’t think straight any more. I had to look up a word online in the thesaurus because I couldn’t think what word I wanted to use and forgot to go get the rest of the things I needed for my project yesterday-maybe it is just age but I will wait to see if that is the problem after this pain in my neck goes away. I think I will be back to my crazy ol’ self. OK–Enough about me.

Yesterday my big boys went out to sea on the Gulf with our neighbor. Down here in SW Florida we are surrounded by lots of elderly people and there is one boy who lives across the street. Their family called and invited the boys to go out on their 16 passenger boat. They had fun-came home a little red-even after using lots of sunscreen (It was a HOT day.) They took showers, got lathered up with aloe, sucked down a fresh pitcher of Lemonade, ate dinner and crashed. I miss them when they aren’t here. The 2 little “BIG” kids miss them, as well and are so excited when they get home. I’m glad they had a great day.

Friday we were running some errands. I needed to find some things for my niece. She graduated from high school 2 weeks ago and is due to have a baby today. I know, not the things we had hoped for, for her, but I have to say I am so proud of her. She did graduate, she did not have an abortion, she has carried this sweet baby and she is keeping her baby and doing it as a single parent, she is also going to start college. Life will not be easy but I couldn’t be more proud of the adult decisions she has made. I want her to know how much we love her and will always love and adore her. I remember the day she was born. I remember the day my brother-in-law called and they (he and my sister-in-law) wanted to know if they could come hang out at our house for the day, while we were at work and use our pool, because they needed a distraction, a day to pull themselves together because they had just received news that their sweet baby girl was “blind”. She wears glasses and does very well and has overcome a lot. I remember her coming over and spending the night and several days at a time with us, when her mom and dad were separated and it was summer time and her Mom was working-our boys LOVED their time with her and so did I. She was their BIG cousin and they loved having her there. They loved swimming in the pool every day and playing out in their fort in the back yard. When I look at those pictures I can not believe she is about to become a Mom. G1 and G2 love their cousin and all on their own, decided they wanted to get her a graduation gift and a baby gift.

I think they did a fabulous job on both gifts. I told them I would make a hair bow to go with the little dress. I do have to say they have good taste for being pre-teen boys. They choose to do this out of the goodness of their own heart-we never even made a suggestion that they buy her something. I had planned on putting their name on the gifts we would send and still will. They have a horse dog walking job
and are good at saving their money. We have gone over spending habits and when it is wise to buy and when you need to save. It makes you proud to see them being wise with their money.

Now on to my next project for the baby’s room-

it won’t stay this way-what will it look like next-stay tuned. I have an idea for her graduation gift as well.
