The Follower button was disabled for awhile today-must be something going on with google so if you are here and you were going to click to follow me but it’s not working again please leave me a note and I will let you know once it is back up and we’ll get you in to the drawing. I wouldn’t prevent your name from going in because of something beyond your control.
Before I address the new look let me give everyone the link for the GIVE-A-WAY.
This weeks give-a-way ends at 10 p.m. tomorrow night. We need to hit 100 followers to have a third give-a-way-this week, that’s only 19 more needed. We are SOOOOO close–Are you a follower? Go HERE to sign up-there are 3 different drawings this week.
This month is flying by. I can’t believe we are almost through the 3rd week of the give-a-way, only one more week of the July give-a-way but I already know something we are doing for next months give-a-way. If you like the ever popular vinyls go to long ramblings to get the details for that give away from Leen the Graphic Queen.
Now for the blog make-over–I know the look is totally different and I am sure there will be some people who don’t like it or liked the other look better and feel free to leave your comments, but Please don’t leave me over a color/style change-I wanted to go with a super clean look. I felt like it was too busy and getting a cluttered look-which drives me crazy. I need to figure out how to do those radio buttons–anybody know how to do those??? H–E–L–P–!!! That would really clean up a lot of stuff on the front of my blog. I can not wait to learn how to do it. I know it’s not as girly looking but this color scheme might be the look I go for in the family/hearth room whenever we move and start acquiring furniture for that room (for you newbies, we sold everything when we moved in OCT 2008). I love the combination of the Khaki and I would use several different smokey gray tones and some black, of course some pops of white and then some smokey blue tones to bring it all together-I think it would be different and amazing all at the same time. I would have some of the photos in the new blog, like maybe a collage with some of these:
I will be adding more pictures.
So, I started checking out some of my blog list when I stopped at Ashley’s blog, A Little Shabby Always Chic and she had a post about a hat from her grandmother and top hat from her grandfather and she made the comment she didn’t know what she was going to do with them. Instantly I knew what I would have done and I posted this to her: I can’t help it my brain just does this—so if you don’t like my idea that is fine but I think it is an OH “Its So Very Cheri” cute idea Here is what I would do with those hats. I would get some big frames and take the glass out. Get mat board but just for a solid surface behind (I would NOT have it cut into a mat)and I would display them in the frames. Where would I put them-in your hall bathroom. Instead of having a Mens Bathroom and a Ladies Bathroom, you are making it the Mens and Womens bathroom. I would make a little frame with the image of each hat (or you could do your boyfriend’s or grandpa’s picture with the top hat on and have either you or your Grandma with the hat on, and have it hung on the door. Above the picture or image of the hats I would have the word RESTROOM and then under each hat put the words MEN and WOMEN. I would do all the decor in the bathroom to go around the hat them.
So where did I come up with that-I know that will be a question I get asked, it just popped in my head. That is the funnest part of doing an eclectic, one of a kind decor.
I am posting on A Soft Place To Land today for the DIY do it yourself link and boy am I crazy about the give away
I am posting a link to this project:
Each of the 6 panels has a different dress and I think it came out so adorable, if I say so myself. The first thing I did was to create the form for the top of the dress that would fit within the panel and then have a skirt attach to it. I decided to make 2 different tops, one is a lower cut top, and I alternated them all the way around. I finished it off by putting a very thin ribbon between each panel to make each dress an individual showcase.
Go here to see the rest of the project.
Well that’s it for today.

I love the new look! The blog looks clean and fresh. That lamp is adorable, you are so talented and a very busy lady.
LOVE THAT SHADE! That took a LOT of time & creativity, but it looks soooo shabbilicious!
Just for the record I like the look with the khaki! Very pretty and clean and refreshing. 🙂

Love the dresses creation … don't worry about anyone except what makes you comfortable. The changes are so much more relaxing & inviting. TTFN~ Marydon
Wow, lot's of great ideas. I love the color combo. I have been going in this color direction in my own home. Trying to tidy up and cut back the clutter, I can relate. Don't know anything about those buttons. I am still trying to figure out how to do 3 columns!
That is just the sweetest little lamp shade! Love it!
I really like the color! It's so earthy and clean. I'm not sure if my comment to you in regards about my layout ever went through. I would love to help you with anything related to your layout! I really just learned HTML through the little knowledge I already had and then teaching myself the rest. I utilize Google A LOT! Feel free to e-mail me at pocketfullofpink(at)gmail(dot)com – I'll be out of town all next week but when I get back I will be sure to check if you've sent anything. Good luck! And thanks for the heads up about the give-away!
Now that's one cute lampshade. Makes me wish I had a girl!
I LOVE the nice clean look of the blog!! I just wanted to let you know, I gave you a shout-out on my blog about the scrolling. It was too funny because when I typed the code for the scrolling and did a "Preview", all the words were scrolling! I said to e-mail if they want the code. Thanks for all your help with that. You always have such neat stuff here – I love to come and window shop. Maybe someday I'll $$ shop!! 🙂
Cute giveaway! I love the new look. I too like simple, uncluttered blogs. 🙂

I do like your new look, but then, I like everything you do!! You must have some creative dreams with your imagination!
~Nancy
Nancy commented that I must have some creative dreams and I have to tell you that I rarely ever remember my dreams and not only that but my husbands cracks up at me because I can be chattering 90 miles an hour and A S S O O N as I crawl in bed and my head hits the pillow I am out. I guess good living helps me sleep good at night. Now on the flip side I will wake up in the middle of the night and come up with some idea and I have to finish the entire creative process before I can go back to sleep. Tonight will possibly be one of those nights because I saw something at Goodwill and I have an idea of what I want to do with it-now to convince my husband we can squeeze it in somewhere until we get moved. I want it — I want it– I really really want it.
