**2 quick notes–I do have a give-a-way going on (if you go 2 posts after this one-it will take you there) and there is a fun quiz for my kids (info in the same post) and the poll is on the right side panel.
WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME to the FIRST KNOCK OFF KNOCK OUT party. If this is the first you have heard about it let me explain and just tell you I am a project kind of girl.
So, have you ever looked at something and said I can make that or re-create it into something similar but where it fits the style of your home, or you ate something at a restaurant and re-created the recipe, because it tasted so good, well that is a KNOCK OFF. Maybe you found the perfect look for your living room, in your favorite magazine but it was so expensive there was no way you could afford it so you re-created it and it looked amazing, well that is a KNOCK OUT. What qualifies for the KNOCK OFF KNOCK OUT party? ANYTHING…it can be an outfit, or furniture, a painting or a frame, it can be an entire room or a pillow. It can be something you saw online that another blogger did a project and showed you the steps, or you could have viewed it online or TV, or saw something you loved at your girlfriends you want to re-create it. That is the beauty of the KNOCK OFF KNOCK OUT. It would be best if you have a picture to post of the original so you can show the item being KNOCKED OFF and then a picture of your item that is the KNOCK OFF but if you don’t have one tell where you saw it or ate the original, etc — you get the idea. I say this is where THRIFTY meets Creative Sensation. It can also fit right in with Rhoda’s party Today’s Thrifty Treasures and Metamorphasis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch so all 3, including the KNOCK OFF KNOCK OUT will take place on Mondays. It can also fit right in with the Kimba’s DIY party on Thursdays.
The KNOCK OFF KNOCK OUT party will be here every Monday. Snatch the button on the side and get the word out.
I am going to post the idea I presented everyone with when I first announced the party and then a post I did early on of some orange rolls. I am not a slcaker-REALLY-If you aren’t a regular here-you only have to read a few posts down to know how ill I was for 9 straight days. I didn’t get to work on something but will hopefully have some things for you next week. So Let The Party Begin… No…Wait…I have to show you 2 ideas for the KNOCK OFF KNOCK OUT. I can’t wait to see some of your posts and I will be posting some of my favs for tomorrows post and I will link over to you.
I made this lampshade:
and although I did not intend on doing a knock off I think it looks similar to this:
Then I made these yummy orange rolls![]()
that Rhoda had posted back a couple of months ago. They were yummy and I do recommend trying them. I posted the info HERE and recommend that you read my post because they had some typos in the recipe and mine didn’t come out as dark as Rhoda’s pictures. I haven’t made them since but need to-they were REALLY GOOD. One of the typos was the temp to cook them at and so mine are lighter and took a lot longer to cook but I will fix those problems with my new instructions that I am guessing they meant to type up. So here are my rolls:
Here are the Guidelines:
1. You must enter your permalink (not your URL) to this post. Your permalink is when you click on the title of that post and the address in the address box shows your permalink. That way people clicking over to see your project don’t have to find the post about it, it takes them right to it.
2. You must link back to THIS post so your readers can find the party and join in or check out what everyone else posted for the week.
If you come back and find that your link got deleted it is due to number 1 or 2 not being done and you can re-post with the correct info.
So now we can get the party rolling thanks to MckLinky.

Hi, Cherie! Thanks for the invite to join your party. 🙂 I edited my knock-off burlap table runner post. I totally copied an idea I saw on one of Rhoda's parties. 🙂 Hope to see you at the Decorating Dilemmas Party tomorrow night or sometime on Wednesday! 🙂
this is a very cool idea and your "knock offs" are awesome!
xo
Just stopping by to say how much I love that lampshade! And those rolls look amazing! 🙂
