Update to some questions and comments:

Here is something I did not mention but Amy brought up in her comments and I agree:
I also recommend to other bloggers that your settings be set to show the full feed. (From your Google Dashboard, go to Layout, click Settings tab, select Site Feed, make sure Allow Blog Feeds drop-down menu says “Full”.) This shows your full blog post in a reader and increases the likelihood of people reading and commenting on your post. If only a shortened version is provided, people might skip over it.

While you are at the Settings Tab click on the Comments Tab, scroll down to COMMENT MODERATION–personally I have ALWAYS clicked. Each posted comment gets e-mailed to me before anyone sees it, so if you get some spam or some crazy poster that posts mean comments or crazy stuff you don’t want on your blog you can delete it without anyone seeing it. Next you enter in your e-mail address. Now Where it says SHOW WORD VERIFICATION FOR COMMENTS click No and then at the bottom under COMMENT NOTIFICATIONS enter your e-mail and then SAVE.

Good Google Info
Another Good Article

Tracey-it is my understanding that the people you follow will automatically show up but if you aren’t a follower you need to add them in.

Anyone with additional info is more than welcome to add their helpful info.

Well, My followers are going gangbusters but the subscribers number isn’t. I will post on that in a second but let me first say ‘I have visited all of the followers that I could’. So please look at your followers and see if I am on there. I will probably be at the bottom of your list because I haven’t added a picture-maybe I can scan an old one in-I am the one with the camera all the time—
IF I am NOT in your list of followers one of several things happened.

1. CRAZY me-came for a visit and left you a message but didn’t sign up or google was doing its crazy appear and disappearing act and I couldn’t sign up.

2. Your account isn’t set up with a blog to come visit. Quite a few of my followers have their personal name and not a blog name so I have no idea what their blog is. If I have 7 Tracy’s that follow me and they all use their name instead of blog name I have no way of knowing who they are. Sometimes there is a picture sometimes not. Sometimes I click and there is no blog listed and I know they have a blog, other times I have no idea who they are-in connection with their blog. Sometimes it says there is no account. If you have not received a follow click from me check and see how you have your account set up because no one will be able to sign up as your follower, if they can’t find you. If you are a follower and don’t have a blog leave me a note as to who you are and let me know so I can at least e-mail you.

3. Google was doing the appearing-disappearing act while I was going through everyone of the new followers and so there were some I just could not click on. It is so hard to remember who I have done and not done because I keep adding so many new followers so if your account is set up to show your blog name and you know you are a follower of mine-PLEASE leave me a comment so I can come back by. Then, if I come by for a visit to sign up and google is going crazy again I can mark the message unread and keep trying.

Now, the subscribe thing that I am encouraging you to do — isn’t for my benefit but for yours. If you sign up for the free account you can get an e-mail update, anytime someone posts a new post to their blog-if you have clicked on their subscribe button. You only get the update on the ones you click on. OR you can subscribe into a reader. That is what I have chosen to do, so when I go into my dashboard and scroll to the bottom it shows me everything new I need to read. It prevents me from having to click on every blog, just to find out that there is nothing new. As you get bigger and bigger — believe me–anything that saves you time will be an advantage.

On the note of blogs getting big–Can I encourage everyone of you to do something that I was encouraged to do by one of the BIG GALS in blogging, when I first started…and that is to get rid of word verification. As I go to visit all of the blogs I need to go to and get stuck at word verification-it is one extra step-that gives you no extra security to your blog, and if I am typing fast and misspell some of those crazy long words then I have to do it again and some of them are set up so the first time you click it is says it couldn’t verify it the first time (and it does it every single time I am there)-I say all of this just because it takes so much extra time and I can’t tell you how tempting it is to just click off because I have so much to do. I am now very grateful that I was advised to get rid of it and I followed the instructions immediately, right after I first started. It’s your blog and do what you want –I am just sharing my point of view on this.

My real post is the next one but I wanted to share this info with you.

I agree with you about removing the word verification.

Well, how do you get rid of word verification … I didn't know. LMK.

I agree on the word verification thing. It is always a tiny bit annoying to write a nice comment, hit send, and then get the pop up for "type in this random word" thing. I took it off my blog months ago, and I've only had 2 spam comments since then, and I just deleted them.

Hi Cheri, I went ahead and subscribed, but then noticed that all the blogs I follow are in my Google Reader anyway. I'm still trying to figure this blog stuff out LOL.

I'm with Tracey. I'm a bit confused. I got your comment that you were going to follow me (And thank you for wishing my dad happy b-day;) but it doesn't appear that you are. Am I doing something wrong? I'm still new at this
