The Knock Off Knock Out Party

by CHERI on August 30, 2009

My sweet blog friend Traci has a great tutorial and give-a-way. shelf give-a-way
So are you getting your fall decor ready? I am. I am already missing the idea of seeing the trees change into those beautiful colors. Believe me -a palm from drying out and turning a gross ol’ brown color and falling out of the palm trees just doesn’t do the same thing for you. If you have never lived around palm trees, they look so light and airy but when they fallout of trees you hear them and you better hope you aren’t standing underneath one, it might just knock you out. Now come winter when it is cold and snowy and I can go swimming and to the beach, I won’t miss the cold weather one little bit.

fall sign
This one is $24.99

There is another sign I found at Terry’s Village and it is even closer to mine but I can’t get it to load properly. It costs $14.99 and has leaves and acorns on it.

So I started working on some of my fall projects.

This is after my first coat of paint (the original sign had ugly orange paper on it-it was gross) and Miss G4 had gotten a hold of it and did her art work on it for me.

I added some coorugated paper and some felt pumpkins in different colors.

Of course I didn’t have the colors I wanted so I had to paint the felt so they were the right colors.

I added some leaves and an acorn,

some text and some berry twig accents across the top. I’m Almost done but not quite.

I went over the twigs and lettering with a touch of dark brown and then went in and added some more highlights of color. I think it looks as good as the ones for sale. I got the sign for $4 and had all the other supplies but even taking into account the amount of supplies I used, this project might have cost $5-$6. A big savings and i think it is a pretty good Knock Off. So show us what Knock Off projects have you been working on?

The word is getting out about the Knock Off Knock Out party. I am excited that so many people are excited about all the projects you creative gals have brought to the party. People are really enjoying the projects. Thank you so much for your participation. Each one of you are very inspiring.

Now, I am also starting another party that will be on Wed. and it is all about your creative decor for the Holidays or seasons and it will also be for those tasty treats you make at specific times of the year so mark your calendars and I hope some of your will come post some great decorating ideas and treats. It starts this Wed.

I have buttons for both parties and I would LOVE it if you grabbed them and put them on your side bar to help spread the word.

I will be posting this to Met Mondays and Rhoda’s thrifty Finds , Gina”s party at The Shabby Chic Cottage Transformation Thursday Trash to Treasure party also doing Thrifty Thursday and last but not least A Soft Place to Land DIY .

Here are the Guidelines:
**If you don’t know how to do something please don’t let that stop you from posting an item. Send me an e-mail and I will help you.
1. You must enter your permalink (not your URL) to this post. Your permalink is when you click on the title of that post and the address in the address box shows your permalink. That way people clicking over to see your project don’t have to find the post, it takes them right to it.

2. You must link back to me so your readers can find the party and join in or check out what everyone else posted for the week. The easiest way is to add my Knock Off Knock Out button to your post. If you want to do the permalink for my post you can do that as well.

If you come back and find that your link got deleted it is due to number 1 or 2 not being done and you can re-post with the correct info.

I look forward to seeing all of your projects and I will feature some of my favorites on Tues for others to see. Remember I LOVE reading every single comment and coming to visit you. Join my followers and subscribe and I will do the same. If we hit 200 followers by the end of day, on the 31st all of my followers will go into a drawing for a cute Fall gift. For a sneak peak at it GO HERE

I really do appreciate links back to me and if you do one let me know and I will do a link back to you as a sign of appreciation. In my book, it’s just proper etiquette.

Remember I LOVE reading every single comment and coming to visit you. Join my followers and subscribe and I will do the same.NOTE: if you have not received a visit from me within 24 hours please e-mail me because I can not get to your account from the follower section-google has some issues. Better yet as soon as you sign up leave me a comment with your blog name and then I can e-mail you immediately to fix it so I can visit you-unless, you don’t want a visit from me.

Although I am not at all ready for Fall, your sign is so cute and has me thinking about Fall decorating.
Thanks for answering my question on the Q & A post! The fact that this blog is 3 only months old (I remember the unveiling) really puts me to shame! Hahaha!

What a cute fall project! I'm just starting to think about getting the fall stuff out. I'm not sure if I'm ready to say goodbye to summer yet!

I love the sign! It is definitely getting me in the mood for fall. I'm thinking about a couple of projects.

I also enjoyed the video at the beginning of your posts with all the projects. Great song choice, too.

Thanks for hosting The Knock Off Knock Out Party!

What a great sign. You have such a wonderful imagination to be able to see something and then visual how to redo it. That is not easy for me at all. lol I love it. Very clever to use the felt too. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving such sweet comments. I really appreciate it and I will be back. Hugs, Marty

Cheri I don't know much. I'm definitely not a blogging or a computer expert. A new book about blogging has been published recently called "Blogging For Bliss". Many bloggers have purchased it from "Amazon.com". It's full of useful tips and such. I hope that it helps you with all of your questions.

Have a wonderful and blessed day.

I'm in the "not ready for fall yet" group although it is my favorite season. You did a great job on your sign. I love the little bit of whimsy you added to make it your own.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Cheri, I like that sign – turned out beautifully! I am a follower, but you just see my sillouette (sp?), not a real picture. Is that the one with the problem? Linda

Wow your sign is wonderful and I love the colours. As usual here in the UK we have had a rubbish summer so I'm just loking forward to cosy nights in after work 🙂

Hi Cheri, thanks for leaving me a comment, I haven't had a chance today to visit all the Met Monday posts, hope I can tonight. Funny, I just found Traci's blog today, her post on making that shelf was awesome 🙂
I'm so ready for Fall despite the fact we're still in the 90's here in TX!
Have a great evening.
Hugs Denise

Cheri,
Your sign is so cute, great job. You have a wonderful blog I enjoy looking at everything so much.
Thanks for inviting me to the party,I just haven't been able to get my stuff together. With all the post I did last week, my house is a mess, the laundry needs to be done and I can go on and on. I did add your button to my side bar something I have been trying to do for a week now. The events you have planned sound great. Thanks for visiting. Now I must get back to answering comments. Talk later.

Sandy
