My Favorite Things–My Unique Interior Decorating Style — A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

by CHERI on September 11, 2009

I wanted to post some of my favorite things today.  I love an eclectic style, mixing old and new, and different metals, woods, rope, cloth, glass.  I love Interior Decorating and I love taking tours of peoples homes.

So my BIG Announcement is this:

I want to start featuring a home per month.  I’m thinking I will create a button at the top or side of my blog for each monthly feature (but it will also be a post that I do), so people can click and see it all month long or maybe it would be better to have a  video clip-I’m still processing the best way to do it.  I will do a post of your home on a Friday, (since I have my party and favorites Mon-Thurs).  For now, it will be the featured cottage for the month.  If you guys love this idea of having your home featured and we have so many, I may have to change it to a weekly feature but for now we will start with a monthly feature.  HINT HINT:  The quicker you get your home on the list, the longer it will be featured.  What do I need from you?  Pictures of your cottage.  You may want to do a room or you may want to do your entire home.  It can be inside or outside your cottage.  If you have any tutorials that you can show of something that you did as a DIY project then that would be GREAT.  Get the word out.

NOW what should we call the button for the Monthly Cottage that will be featured?   Help me come up with a great Cottage name.  Post your name suggestions in the comments.

So now for some of my favorites:

These items are from Pottery Barn:

Restoration Hardware

Mothology:

Crate and Barrel

Ballard:

I love old luggage and silverware caddies, old canisters and wood crates, silver and glass, old and new, ladders, jar, mixed dishes. I so want to find mix and match vintage soda fountain glasses for our every day drinking glasses.

These are a few of my favorite things…. Are any of these your favorites?  Remember to help come up with a name for the Cottage Home Tour.
Remember to sign up as a follower and I will come do the same.  I do read every comment and love to come for visits and get to know you better.

I have been asked quite a bit lately, how I have grown so quickly and for some information.  My next post goes over some tips.
Helpful Tips to Grow your blog

I love this quote and think it fits perfectly with the book give-a-way:

Healing walks quietly and softly. It doesn’t cry out like pain nor does it bellow out like laughter. It holds us so tenderly that we don’t even feel its arms. And when its job is done-it doesn’t clap or shout-it just allows us to find our way.  Author Unknown

I love all of your favorites! I think we have very similar style. I'd love to participate in the cottage of the month. Should I e-mail pics to you? I'll be thinking of a name…

I love all that and MORE!

Well it's not a cottage, per se, but I'd love if you'd feature my son's new playhouse cottage!!

We just finished it and I just posted about it on my brand new blog and would love to have more people see it…

Thanks so much!

Hi Cheri, I checked my photo in your follow list and I didn't have links either! I think I figured that part out and now you can see my blog url, but not sure how I change my name for when I leave comments for people?

Oh, great idea. I'd love to have mine featured sometime, if you'd like.
It's ever changing and hopefully being sold SOON, and then we'll have a whole new house to feature! 🙂

I just bought the pottery barn pepsi crates. Can't wait for them to arrive! 🙂

Cheri,
What a great ideal you have featuring homes. I'm sure everyone could pick up a few tips and decorating ideals. I do love your favorites, I could live with any of them in my house. And by the way if you have a couple extra drops of all that energy you have, I will gladly take it.

Love the concept and can't wait to see what everyone is putting up.

For the button like either the curtain drawing back to reveal… or the luggage in the hall.

I would be glad to share my home. It is not a designer showcase home, just an average middle class home that I think I have made quite pretty and comfortable on a budget. See below for my posts, they can be edited for your purpose:
