Celebrate the Holidays & you don’t know it yet but you really really want it-the FREE Give-A-Way

by CHERI on September 22, 2009

Welcome to the Celebrate the Holidays party.

**Google is in a mood this morning.  I had pictures missing that were there last night and so I went in to the HTML to see what was going on and it had switched a bunch of pictures from IMG SRC to A HREF and had one picture that was repeated all over the post about 30 times—so I now have that fixed and hope it stays.

Enjoy your first day of Fall-it still feels like Summer here.

If you would like to sign up for the lovely CELEBRATING THE HOME give away from Tamara click on Celebrating the Home.   You don’t want to miss out on getting your name in for this give-a-way.  The serving items are beautiful and the cobbler is super yummy.  Go sign up so you don’t forget and then come right back to see my all the beautiful decor.

Be sure to come by Friday to see our very FIRST “It’s So Very Cottagey” Home Tour.  We will be featuring 2 homes tours this week.  Of course it doesn’t have to be a cottage to qualify- we just love to tour your home. One of our tours had to back out due to a death in the family so we will reschedule that one. Monday is the Knock Off Knock Out.

I love coming to meet you and if you follow me I will come and do the same-all new followers please leave me a comment with your e-mail-sometimes there is no link and I can’t come for a visit.

I had received this
Midwest Living Magazine and wanted to share some of my favorite things.

I love this fall wreath. The colors are so beautiful and I love the division of each color and texture.  Isn’t it wonderful.

For a Spooky look that fits in with your darker side, this is the perfect match.
Do you remember this project I did.  Those long necked faux gourds would be perfect for the ghosts.

And look at these
cute glowing balls and here is the tutorial on how to make them.

Glowing balls

Fashion a spooky tabletop display that starts with easy-to-make plaster-cloth spheres.
Wrap plaster-cloth strips (from a crafts store) around a balloon, following the directions on the plaster-cloth package. Leave open spaces as you wrap. When dry, remove the balloon and use a crafts knife to cut an opening for inserting the light. Place sphere over an orange or white battery-operated votive. Set your spheres on clear glass cake stands or similar displays.

Any instructions that short have to be easy peasy.

I love those Mums.  This just reminds me of this picture we had done of our kids, a year ago.

the G-Force Family

I like the pumpkins/gourds with their bumps everywhere but I really love the old wood pieces they used as stands–

I so love acorns

Remember this,
this,
and  this

Simple can be beautiful too.  Seeing those kernels of corn reminds me of a book I read my boys a few years ago about the Pilgrims and how some of those first years they had @ 5 kernels of corn to each each day.

Personally I think they should have used sunflowers for this.  It would have had a much better presentation.

Look at that tablecloth.

I can remember growing up in Michigan and seeing cattails growing on the side of the road. You don’t see them very often in the Midwest and never down here in SW Florida.
I really like this.  I was just thinking the other day that I would like to cover some pumpkins in coffee stained book pages or music to sit with my mercury pumpkins and maybe do a black one to go with it.

how many of you have gone out to get your decorations to make sure your rakes looks beautiful for Fall?

Love all the colors together-don’t you?
EVERYBODY loves numbers, especially me.
Do you need some new drapes for fall?

  How cute is that?
They even have pumpkins for true Flower Children

My hubby mentioned the other day that maybe we should go to our favorite Pumpkin Patch when we are bad in Kansas City.  I hope we do.  G3 and G4 don’t remember it and G3 would remember it now.  It is sooo cool.  If we go I will take lots of pictures to show you gals.

What is the Celebrate the Holidays party all about?
Celebrating, it can be at recipe, a DIY project, a room decorated, even something from a magazine that you love and would like to work on re-creating.

ANYONE is welcome to join the party.

How do you join?

**You need to create a post about your item. (I suggest opening 2 browser windows so you can go back and forth-it just goes faster.) In your post you need to add my KNOCK OFF KNOCK OUT button (copy the code in the scroll box under the box and copy it into your post) or add the link to my post so people can find the party.

**You need to add the permalink (NOT your blog address). If you click on your post title, copy that code that appears in the address bar and then post it to MckLinky.

If you come back and your post is not here, it is because you forgot to do one of the above things, just fix it and re-post. I have been trying to come by and let people know if they forgot something but with our home school year underway, I can not guarantee that I can do that this week. We enjoy every new post and I appreciate everyone who has posted the party buttons on their side bar. You guys really do inspire me.

I can not wait to see all the wonderful projects.

I love all the photos. The one that you said should have had sunflowers. I agree and it brought back some memories of my Mom.

She had one of those and I wished she had kept it, because I would have given anything to have it now.

My Mom would only decorate around the Fall and Christmas, we did not have much money, but she would bring that out in early fall and put nuts in it and put it on the coffee table. It would be the first thing she would put out.

Thanks for making me remember that nutcracker dish.

Hi Cheri,
Wow, what an awesome blog!! So much eye candy! I really love all your Fall photos, there's just so much inspiration here.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog earlier! What a bummer about the "Followers" gadget not working today, it's been down all day. When it comes back up, I'll have to hop back over and follow you too, so I can visit again.
