My favorites from the Knock Off

by CHERI on October 27, 2009

It’s been a cRaZy, wild, long month. We came for a wedding and stayed in Missouri (yes I could joke and say Missery but we have lived here and know it isn’t missery most of the time) longer than we EVER anticipated but it has been fun seeing fall. You just don’t get the same nostalgic feeling when you see a palm from turn brown and fall out of a tree. We have been here since the 8th. My kids are finally healthy and we will hopefully be returning to Florida to get back into our normal schedule soon. I do have to say they have had a BEAUTIFUL fall. When we arrived the trees were just starting to change colors, then they went into the vibrant fall festivities and now many of the leaves are falling. I have gotten pictures of some amazing tree colors.

I was running all day today or on the phone trying to get our flight arrangements made (still not done). We had to get the Dr to fax info that our kids were too sick to fly and we are waiting to hear if they will match our ticket prices. I’m typing with my fingers crossed and it’s really hard to do. Maybe I should just cross my toes, but then I might get a charlie horse. It will be a little tricky to get back with our tight schedule. Prince Charming needs to be back at work on Monday, Nov 2. We didn’t think the airline was going to get us back in time so I had my Mom send school books and Halloween costumes plus a few other things-that package will be here either Wed or Thur and we have plans to get together with friends on Friday. We haven’t seen our best friends much, since we have been here, because everyone in both families have been so sick. Then add to it Halloween. Our options for flying are going to be Friday-and not get together with our friends, Sat morning so we are back in time for Trick or Treating (there are over a thousand kids who come through the neighborhood every year-it is one long never ending line. All the retirees sit at the end of their driveways –if they participate– and kids go from one house to the next.) or we can leave Sunday so he can be back for work Monday.

Another reason I am just now getting on the internet-we went and bought a broadband card–WHY didn’t we think of this 2 1/2 weeks ago? While Prince Charming looked at cards and new phones I took all 4 kids next door to Michael’s. It’s nice to be able to have one continual thought without a child asking a question. Just as we (that would be me-(minus Prince Charming)-and the 4 kids) were leaving Michael’s we ran into some friends that we haven’t seen for several years.  She said “Hey-It’s Cheri from It’s So Very Cheri” and then told me EVERYONE from Hallmark Cards Corp knows about Its So Very Cheri”.  I had no idea she had ever been to my blog–I really wish everyone would leave a note- I love reading your comments.  They (this couple we ran into) are both very talented artists. They both worked with my Dad before my Dad retired from Hallmark Cards Corp. I will have to ask her if she will do a tutorial project sometime. She is really good at any craft she does. I hope you see this Keda.

Then I had a gal, Nicole, leave me an e-mail message.  She was looking for baby projects and came across mine for my sweet little niece. I am guessing she saw This post or this post both were gifts I made for my sweet niece. Nicole was amazed because her cousin had just had a baby a few months earlier and named her baby the exact same name. Lo and behold Nicole is my sweet niece’s cousin on her Mom’s side of the family. You just never know who will pop by your blog.

I want you gals to know I am working on some projects to show you as soon as I get back home.

Favs-
I loved them all-they are all great. I keep loosing connection with the card and so I probably won’t be able to get all the pictures pulled so be sure and go check out all these fabulous posts. I’ll start with:

Craft Monkey’s pumpkins–I picked up a couple more pumpkins today for some more projects

Persimmon Perch–etching is genius.  Can I tell you how many times I have actually thought of doing this to all my glass bakeware and pie pans.  My idea was to put it on the bottom on the underneath side though.  Love it.

Loved the Pottery Barn moss wreath knock off–I actually donated to Goodwill 2 of those moss topiaries that I made, before we moved last year–can you see my sad face.

Adventures of a Stay at Home Mom–The Mummy candy bar is just too cute.

Carftahokics Anonymous–I thought the IF THE SHOE FITS project was super cute–It would be perfect sitting next to the pumpkin I posted that said The Witch Is In.

Fireflys and Jelly beans–Made a super Junior laptop.  My problem is Miss G4 took some of the keys off of my laptop and taking it in to get it repaired and knowing I’ll be without –YIKES

Tracychele–oh those Bath towel hangers are so super cute–I love anything with letters and numbers on it.

Brittany–the QUEEN of Goodwill deals made another fabulous table redo.  I was so excited to get a few good deals while we were here.  The prices in Florida are OUT RAGOUS.  I showed you table with gumball machine to my sister and she thought it was really cute.

Cindy–your BOOFAY was out of this world and although it might have been a little TRICKY from time to time, it came out as one sweet TREAT.

The Grain Sack Pillows are also so wonderful. I was so surprised because I have, on my PROJECT TO DO List–a knock off of this fabric.

Thank you ladies–grab your I’ve been featured button

Help me find benches for my project AND if anyone has any suggestions on getting my head and foot board back to Florida inexpensively-let me know. If you posted a blog award for me to do and I haven’t gotten to it–I promise I have not forgotten I just have had such limited internet I haven’t gotten to it but I promise I will, it is on my TO DO LIST.

Help me find benches for my bench project–
There are NO RULES for the bench party–it doesn’t have to be a project you have done,  post any benches that you like.  I got a GREAT DEAL on a headboars–$3 and it is in great shape and I am trying to decide what I am going to do with it –exactly.  I have so many different ideas running through my head.
