Fabulous Holiday Decorating to Celebrate the Holidays

by CHERI on November 11, 2009

 I just love the Holidays.
Starting Friday Nov 27 rather than have
our normal home tours
I will have the home tours with a mcklinky so you gals can post holiday decor
for all of us to enjoy.
We will call it the Its So Very Christmasy home tour.

I will get a button made and up so you gals can
help spread the word.

Be sure to come post to the mcklinky party your favorite Thanksgiving recipes and traditions. I can’t wait-
I love trying new recipes and hearing how others celebrate.
I used to start decorating on Thanksgiving evening or the day after but for the past several years
I have started the weekend before. I do 5 or 6 trees-(I really want one in every room), so it doesn’t get done in one day. It is so nice to have that done before the crazy
hubbub starts with shopping and baking and wrapping etc

From my tassel tutorial-I got so many e-mails with people telling me they were going to make a tassel, I decided to have a party for everyone to post their creations.

Before I show you the magnificent Holiday Decor I am showing my Favs from Monday.
I loved the entries for the Its So Very Creative party.

Here are a “few” I wanted to showcase:

(I can never just pick one)

I enjoy looking through all of them.

OK Gals, grab your “I’ve Been Featured” Button

and pat yourselves on the back

You deserve it.

I had to publish this first one, not only is it a darling arrangement but I love the G pumpkin–I so need one of those-since many of my new followers might not know this info–all 4 of my kiddos have names that begin with the letter G and they call themselves THE G-FORCE.

I love the yellow, green and white combination against the black, just gorgeous

What a fabulous idea to use and they look so masculine for her hubbies closet.

I am in love with her doors

This looks so classy

The funny thing–

I made some ornaments for the tutorial I did yesterday at Teri’s blog

and we did some with glitter.  I just didn’t show those on her blog.

I wanted to share some more of the decor at Petals and Potpourri in Blue Springs, MO.  When we went back last month, we were just a few minutes away and so I got to run in one day and look around for a bit.  I got so many great ideas just from going in that store.I am working on one thing that I will be showing you very soon.
THEY HAD LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL FALL DECOR

I love all the textures of those balls

AND LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS THEMES
I thought it was interesting how they turned this light upside down and used it for greenery
h

They had a lot of neat signs around the store

and lots of cute plates

They do beautiful swags and floral arrangements

I loved all the use of color in this sign

The tag with the star-makes me think of another favorite decorating store in Greenwood Mo.
The name of the store is OLD GLORY.  Next time we go back, hopefully my kids won’t get ill
and I can go in all of my favorite shops.

Look at those adorable snowmen

They had different areas set up in different themes

Cheri,

Great store!! Thanks for sharing the pics. I love getting to see pics of stores from around the country. Gives us fabulous ideas.

On another subject, how do you make the scrolling slide shows on your sidebars. The ones with links? I need to do that on my blog as well.

All I can say is Cheri, you have an awesome blog! I only wish I had the time to make mine as interesting as yours. Love all the pictures, especially the baby's room with the polkadots, and the store with Christmas decor, and the open book one. Was that the bible? If it was, what a statement to make!
