Hello Ladies
This morning we are going to be touring Kaysi’s house. She has posted some fun crafts in my parties. I always enjoy getting to know each of you so much. It always cracks me up when people are surprised that I e-mail them back and we build a blog friendship. I enjoy getting to tour each of your homes. I am so glad we have had a variety from very small to quite large, some have been new, some old, some decorated professionally while others are in the works. As Kaysi takes us on a tour of her home she shows different projects they have worked on and I wanted to add her tutorial for her kitchen counter tops.

Let’s get started on our tour.
Welcome to the house that has been our home for the past two years. It is our very first house, so we wanted to put our own personality in it. We have done a TON of painting, including painting all the doors and trim white and much more.
As you enter our house, you come into our entry way.
Entry way before:
Entry way after:
We painted the whole room a light blue, took out the big area rug and replaced it with a smaller one and then painted the mirror and shoe holder a dark brown.
The welcome sign is made out of painted wooden letters and is right above the coat closet.
Right off of the entry way, on the same floor, is a little room. The previous owners used it as an office because it has no closet.
Office before:
We have no purpose for an office, so we turned it into a nursery. We painted the room green and brown and put up a chair rail around the whole room. I made the rocker chair to match the room.
Since there was no closet, we need somewhere to put clothes, so we got some little cabinets and screwed them into the wall.
Keyne is made out of wooden letters and the circles all over the room are vinyl.
Now let’s go upstairs. Right off of the stair is our living room.
Living room before:
We didn’t have to paint this room much, just the trim and the built in shelves. Many pictures and decorations, including a picture holder on the piano.
We painted these shelves a dark brown and have decorated them with our wedding pictures and flowers.
My sister actually made this shelf for my, using a tabletop on the top and back.
The living room leads right into the dining room.
Dining room before:
First thing we did in the dining room is take out the carpet. Carpet does not get along with three boys and their food! We replaced it with a laminate wood floor that continues to go into the kitchen. A new light fixture instead of a fan and blue paint on the back wall.
The dining room is connected to the kitchen.
Kitchen: before
The biggest changes that we did in the kitchen are we painted the counter tops, removed the cabinets above the bar to open up the kitchen and changed the appliances to stainless steel.
Taking the cabinets out made a huge difference! It is much lighter and now I can actually talk to my kids while they eat. We replace the single door cabinet with the two door cabinet and put the two cabinets in our garage for food storage.
We changed all of the hardware on the cabinets and the kitchen faucet, to update the look of the kitchen.
The bar with the painted counter tops, which I absolutely love. They look so much better than just plain cream!
These two decorations I made. The plate has rub ons all over it and the utensil holder is a big jar with fabric on it.
These signs are on the other side of the kitchen
Off the kitchen and down a little hall is the master suite.
Master bedroom before:
With a little white paint on the windows and wood blinds, some cute bedding a few pictures this room is my favorite in all the house. Our place to sit back and just relax!
I’m not exactly sure what this is, I found it at a garage sale for $1. It doesn’t have glass but I figured I could use it anyway. I just have the pictures directly on the wall and the frame over it.
The master bathroom is directly off the master bedroom.
Master bathroom before:
We painted the whole room green and the vanity a dark brown.
These frames are 8×8 and I just made little mats from them out of card stock, added a little ribbon and brads for a little color.
That completes the upstairs, so now time for the downstairs.
Downstairs before:
We painted the whole downstairs a beige color with a red accent wall.
I decorate each of my boys frames of when they are 3 months old.
This is a magnetic board that we use for family home evening. The little magnets are made to reassemble each one of us.
Right downstairs is the bathroom.
Downstairs bathroom: before
We painted the whole room blue and the vanity white.
Next comes the boys’ rooms.
Bedroom before:
We didn’t have to do much in here, just decorate and paint the trim white.
This is a little chore shelf. The list of chores is on one side and when my son does one chore, he moves it to the next side. The little pail is his little bank for his allowance.
This is another magnetic board that I had that I painted it and used chalk board paint on the back.
Right across the hall is my other son’s room.
Bedroom 2 before:
With two colors of blue paint, and a TON of tape and a chair rail, we made this room.
This is my son’s baby announcement professionally framed. All of my boys have them in their rooms.
Next comes the family room.
Family room: before
We painted the accent wall red to give this room some much needed color!
I stamped on the wall above the pictures “because I have a brother, I always have a friend”
Directly off of the family is our craft room/guest room.
Guest room before:
We didn’t have to do much in this room. I LOVE the paint job they did, there are stripes all over the room. They are the same color but alternate from a semi-gloss to a flat paint. It looks amazing.
This sign was made with wood, ribbon and card stock.
