If you don’t know this about me–I love getting to know people better.
I am a total people person.
I love to chat but I also love to watch people–
like if we are at a park and the kids are playing and I am watching them run in two different directions, and making sure they don’t get near the water full of alligators, that EVERY CHILDREN’S PARK in FLORIDA likes to have at their parks.
Thankfully they add a sign about the gators–
it would be even better if toddlers could read about the danger lurking close to the twisty slide.
I like watching and analyzing people.
I know you all are going Hmmmmmm—–an analytical, chatty people person—scary.
Just know I can not analyze too much cuz there are gators close by and with 4 kids someone breaks my thought patterns by asking a question and as soon as 1 person asks a question, someone else has one and has to wait their turn till number 1 is done, then the next question and then a 4th child has a question and child number 1 is patiently waiting to get to ask question number 2, on their list of questions-ASKED and to them, it seems like an eternity since they asked their first question and the cycle begins again. All the while they have each been feeling like they are waiting an eternity to talk again, my head is going from one subject to another and another and another.
It has been crazy wild around here lately. The DIY Club inc project is huge but super fun and we are all so excited about tomorrow. Tues. night I got ready to crawl in bed at around midnight (super early for me lately–I’ve been hitting the bed around 2 or 3 am) and about had a panic attack because I had totally forgot to put my Wed party up. So I just BLEW my organized persona. NEXT WEEK WILL BE BETTER–I promise and just so everyone knows I am still putting my FAVS list together–just remember it’s been a CraZy wEek—plus I’ve had migraine for almost 2 weeks. I am thrilled to have a creative gal take my blog hostage and show off her stuff and since I somehow lost all of my “I’ve BEEN Featured at” blog list I get to add this to the list-

If you have featured me-let me know and I will re-add your button.
Take it away TAM
Hi! I’m Tam from Sew Dang Cute.
Thanks Cheri for letting me stop by today! Cheri is one of the most “on the ball” people I’ve met. She is, like she says, a definite planner and extremely organized! I love it!!! She has so many fun things on her blog, I’ve been hooked for months, so I’m super honored to be sharing a tutorial with you today!
I have this wall in my house.
I painted it over 4 years ago when I was 8 months pregnant with my first child, but that’s a story for another day. Since then, I have been asked countless times how I did it, so I figured I should probably share a tutorial on it, so I have something to reference people to.
My wall started out the light tan (the smallest stripe), so I only needed to paint the two greens. Pretend my wall is all the light tan. Start out by taping off the wall as you normally would for painting (baseboards, ceiling, etc.). Now determine how wide you want each of your stripes. Mine are 9″, 6.5″, and 4″. I went along the wall making small pencil marks for 15.5″, then 4″. The 15.5″ will make sense in a bit. Then comes the taping. The trick is this fabulous instrument known as a laser level.
You set it on the ground and it displays a red LED light on your wall. Line it up with your pencil marks and once the bubble shows it’s level (meaning your line is straight), don’t touch it. (Sorry the picture isn’t that great…see that little red line on the right of the dark green stripe)?
Then I used good quality painter’s tape (THIS IS A MUST!!!!) and taped along the red line.

Repeat all across your wall one red line at a time. Then I painted the 15.5″ pieces the lighter green. (This picture was Photoshopped to demonstrate).
Repeat all along the wall. Allow paint to dry. Then you pull out your laser level and painter’s tape again. Measure the 6.5″, display the red LED line on your wall, and tape. (See why you MUST use good quality painter’s tape? You don’t want to pull off that light green you just painted).
Go ahead and paint your dark green in this area. Allow to dry, remove all your tape and you are done!
I hope that made enough sense without being able to show you exactly how it was done! If you have any questions, please let me know!!!! For more tutorials (especially sewing), please come visit me!
Thanks Cheri for having me today! It was a lot of fun!
