Please take note of the LOVELY green indoor-outdoor carpet. This is the view of the back lanai. We see the lake and on the other side of the lake is one of the subdivision golf courses.
Here is what the indoor view was. I hate that orange-BLAH!!
I know you are all gagging. I did not paint that–I would NEVER do that.
You will see in some of the other pictures how bright and vibrant it WAS. This picture shadows the colors and they look much more muted.
I started ripping up the carpet. It was gross. The previous owner had that great idea.
SERIOUSLY?
An outdoor screened in lanai–it rains and the carpet gets wet. It was stinking. We keep a lot of the kids plastic toys out there but I have to bleach them down once a week. Oh to be back in the Midwest with a basement again.
Once I had power washed the lanai–we had a problem–the hurricane shutters that have been installed are preventing water from getting out of lanai.
No wonder the carpet stunk.
I pulled out my DREMEL and started drilling small holes (3 to be exact) so the water could escape. It worked GREAT. In no time the water was all gone.
I ordered my paint from Mythic Paint.
The wall color is Dry Pine Needles.
The Ceiling is a combination of the Dry Pine Needles from Mythic Paint, Rockler’s Milk Paint. I used the Millstone color and a little DecoArt white stencil paint
I knew I wasn’t going to have enough paint to paint the ceiling so I took the rest of my Mythic paint and mixed it with my Rockler milk paint and a little of my DecoArt white stencil paint, the color is a gorgeous coordinating color.
Now the fun transformation could begin.
Get ready–
go grab your sunglasses.
I told you it was vibrant.
NOW–Isn’t it so much better.
Yuck! I had to do something about that ceiling fan too. I will show you that in the final reveal.
I have tile being delivered today so the final reveal will be coming up soon.
I still have a few things left to finish up on my parents bedroom makeover so I can reveal that.
What’s NEXT–you guessed it-

As if it isn’t bright or hot enough in Florida they had a color that encompassed both! I love the darker color you used on the walls and the main reason is that it psychologically will make you feel cooler sitting out there. I love your pond, Cheri. We had one but we always had leaking issues with it, so we filled it in last Spring while we were getting the house ready to go on the market.
Oh this is going to be GORGEOUS!! Love the color you chose! And your pond is so pretty…I used to have one and I miss it!
Can’t wait to see more!
Lou Cinda 🙂
I like your new color, but I must also admit that I love orange and probably would have chosen that same color! hehehe I’m trying to tone myself down as I get older – notice I didn’t say “mature.” hehehe I can’t wait to see what you did with the fan.
I cannot wait to see the finished product! It looks like you guys have been super busy but I know it is going to be so beautiful in the end!
Vanessa
