I like to make things from scratch. I like knowing what is going into our food. My hubby is in college so creating homemade meals also saves a lot of money.
Sometimes I run out of time and I have to improvise. (I still do homemade from scratch-sometimes)
Sometimes I want to re-create something from a restaurant with out the cost of going out to eat.
I will share my tricks and share recipes with you. Do you have a Knock Off Recipe (it can be a restaurant, a name brand item or an easier way to make a meal) that tastes just like the real deal but saves you TIME. You can also submit recipe that are just TOO GOOD to take any shortcuts. If you would like me to share your recipes–(send me an e-mail Cheri@itssoverycheri.com and in the subject line put SIMPLY HOMEMADE RECIPE) In your e-mail please tell me who you are knocking off, what shortcuts you can take. If it is a tantalizing recipe that demands it be made from scratch them let me know. Sometimes it doesn’t pay to take the short cuts.

It is weeks like this that make me miss my sisters even more. I miss hugging and kissing on my nieces, playing board games and dominoes, watching old 1940’s Christmas movies.

I am going to give you some recipes to help you through this holiday week. This recipe is yummy, taste so yummy but is a faster version of home made rolls.
60 Minute Rolls
Bake at 400 degrees 10-15 minutes
2 pkg of fast rise yeast
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 Cup of powdered milk
2 1/2 Tbsp. Butter
1 1/2 cups of Hot Tap Water
4 Cups of flour
Mix together the yeast, sugar, salt and powdered milk with 1 Cup of flour. Add in the butter and hot water. Add the remaining 3 Cups of flour and mix well. Set the rolls on a warm stove and let them rise for about 15 minutes. Add a little flour and knead the dough until it is no longer sticky. Break off pieces of dough and form into a ball. Place the dough on a buttered pan and let rise another 15-30 minutes, then bake. Butter the tops of the rolls as soon as they come out of the oven.
Mmmmmm!!!!

Cheri, those rolls look sooooo good! I am going to give the recipe to my husband to make! (he was a chef for many years). My husband went back to college in 2003 to earn a bachelors degree since he only had a 2 year AA degree for culinary arts. He worked a 50 hour a week job while going to school and graduated Summa Cum Laude. I was soooooo happy when he finished because we didn’t hear him say “I can’t, I have homework” anymore! Hope the time your husband is in school will go by quickly for you!
Those look amazing! But I am thinking there is a mistake in the ingredients – or did you really mean 2 1/2 cups of Hot Tbsp butter?
