eye–yi-yi What do you do when Miss G4 colors not one but 2 of her favorite baby dolls with a purple Sharpie?
The second attack of the Sharpie.
She decided her special baby needed purple nostrils and the insides of her ears too.
My boys got this baby for her last Christmas. She LOVES this baby. When you ask her what happened to it, she says “Let’s not talk about it”.
I have to tell you about this baby. If you need a baby doll for a little girl this is a GREAT baby. Wal-Mart has them again this year. They are only $20 – Now that is a steal for a baby doll when many cost $50 or more. Miss G4 treats this doll like it is real. She will look into its eyes like it is her real baby. She talks to it and cuddles it.
This baby has a pacifier and when pulled out of its mouth, it starts to open its eyes and she cries. Miss G4 will tell it, “its OK your Mamma is here. I’ll take care of you.” She repaces the pacifier into its mouth and the baby sucks on it, slowly closing its eyes as if it is falling asleep. You can hear the baby breathing and the breathing pattern changes as she falls asleep. The stomach moves up and down in a breathing motion too. It is SO life like. I just had to share it with you. $20 again this year–at Walmart. Just keep Sharpies out of reach. Now I must try another product to see if we can get the purple baby syndrown problem resolved. If I find a product that works I will share it with you because I bet I am not the only one who has had this problem.
Just in case you want to thrill the socks off a little girl–
The brand is: baby boutique CUTE EXPRESSIONS (the box is purple and pink)

I am sure you have tried it, but I use Krud Kutter’s graffiti remover. Also, this is crazy, but vegetable oil also takes some wierd stuff off (I use it to take oil based paint off my skin). Now off to Wal Mart to buy Princess Fiona her first doll!
Oh gosh, Cheri! I think this is a given with little girls and dolls at some point. Whether it is “eye shadow” or “make up” or whatever, they always find the most permanent thing to use! I don’t have any suggestions, but I bet you are glad it was just the doll that got purple nostrils and ears! ; )
Kathy–yes you are right. Mr G3–got a hold of a purple sharpie just before he turned 2 and colored his butt checks and private parts. You can’t scrub that–lots of baths and letting the dead skin cells fall off.
I will add Krud Kutters to my list.

oh, poor baby!!! emmy has a baby with a big purple splotch on it from a marker as well, but nothing like this one!!! your little girl is clearly just expressing her creativity, just like mommy. 😉
My daughter did that to her dolls as well. I used rubbing alcohol. It worked pretty well. There’s still faint signs of marker, but I think they’re getting fainter/being worn off.
My oldest daughter, shes 27 now, used to draw on all of her dolls. I have to admit I was worried about it at the time, didn’t know if it meant some deep down emotional problems. But don’t worry she grew up to have 4 beautiful real babies of her own and she doesn’t draw on any of them!
My sister got her Betsy Wetsy doll for some occasion – I believe Christmas and I took a pen to its face. 50 some odd yr later I haven’t lived it down yet!
Oh man!! She got that baby good. We usually have luck with rubbing alcohol to get sharpie off of stuff… you’ve probably already tried it though… good luck!
Have you trued the Mr. Clean magic erasers? I’ve heard they take Sharpie off furniture, not sure about babies though………good luck!
Yes-thank you. We have tried alcohol, fingernail polish remover, magic eraser, awesome, stain fighters…I need to pick up some goop off and try it,
Where can I find additional clothes or replacement passifier/bottle for this doll? My son LOVES his daughter/son (whichever he’s in the mood for), but has a little trouble keeping up with everything. The Wal-Mart in my neighborhood seems to have no sign of these, nor does their site from what I’ve seen…
