Caramel Apple Pie
2 graham cracker pie crusts (store bought or homemade)
3 cans Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1 container whipped topping or my favorite–homemade whipped cream.
2 apples
Boil the CLOSED cans of milk in water for 4 hours. Always make sure the cans of water are under water during the boiling process. Cool the cans for 1 hour before opening them.
When you open the cans the milk will have turned to caramel. Empty the cans of caramel into the pie crusts. Top with apples and whipped topping.
optional –top with chopped pecans.
TIP–I always soak my sliced apples in either a lemon water or a lemon lime soda to keep them from turning brown.
