Have you tried an EYE VAC

We have 4 kids and even though they all help out–we sweep the floor a lot. Add to the 4 kids–I am constantly working on projects.
We home school so we are at the house a lot.
I found the Eye Vac at Rockler.
Who wouldn’t want to save their backs by avoiding the bending and scooping required by traditional dustpans.

The Eye Vac is a 1200-watt stationary vacuum. You plug it in and just sweep the debris into the path of its always-on infrared sensors, and the Eye-Vac will vacuum it away instantly. It turns off automatically when finished. When the indicator light tells you the canister is full you dump the canister. There is no need for extra vac bags eliminating extra “plastic” trash and I like that I am doing something GREEN when it comes to trash.

It also features a manual on/off switch for added convenience. Ideal for tile, wood, vinyl, concrete, and most any non-carpeted surface, the Eye-Vac’s cyclonic vacuum action with dual-HEPA filtration ensures clean air return. Any standard HF4 filter will fit the Eye-Vac Pro. You can simply cut your filter of choice to a 4″ x 3″ rectangle and insert it into the filter tray when the filter needs replacing.

  • Turns on and off automatically when debris enters IR sensor’s range
  • Cleans air with HEPA filtration

I LIKE IT!!!  Do you?

Sounds very interesting, I’ve never heard of it before. Do you ever set off the sensor by walking by it? I’m think that would be great for when my kids sweep the floor – the sweeping is okay, but sometimes they end up dumping it all out of the dust pan before they get to the garbage. 🙂

That’s very cool! I may just look into getting one for my messy guys. 🙂
Thanks,
Jill

Great idea! I always worry about those vacumn robots that work without you. What, if like the creepy crawler for the pool, it gets stuck in one spot and just continually sucks stuff up? This solves that problem. Plus you control when and how it works. Cool.

We haven’t set it off walking by. It is super cool.
