Spring Flower Decoration Trends
Three words can sum up this spring’s trends in floral décor: bright, bright and bright. Not only is fashion’s current color-blocking trend showing up everywhere in floral decorations, but even monochromatic palettes are featuring hotter colors as well. When subtler looks are called for, green is stepping up to the bat as the new neutral, predominantly used in arrangements to emphasize a natural, organic style. Seaside themes are also popular, either in nautical red, white and blue or bright ocean blues and greens, softened with sandy white.
Trendsetters are using bright ideas to present flowers and foliage as well. Clear glass vases are popular, particularly when filled with clear marbles to make them sparkle. Bright neon containers with bold geometric shapes are another trend. While compact arrangements remain the most popular shape for floral arrangements, they are being softened with flowers, greenery and twigs that trail over the lip of the container.

Seascape Designs
Tropical Paradise. This year, the paint manufacturer Pantone declared their paint color Tangerine Tango as the Color of the Year, and one of the best ways to work the bright red-orange color into flower decorations in with arrangements with a tropical feel. Pincushion protea, gloriosa lily and anthurium, combined with large-leaf greenery, create tropical designs perfect for high-style arrangements. Bamboo provides strong horizontal and vertical lines.

Seashell Serene. Seashore designs call for clear-glass containers and loosely-arranged flowers that convey the motion of waves crashing on the shore. A specimen seashell, placed carefully within the vase or in the arrangement, instantly establishes a seaside theme.

Nautical Floral Décor. While true blue flowers remain rare, blue hydrangeas remain plentiful and popular, making them an ideal choice for nautical-themed flower decorations. Combined with crisp red carnations and sprays of white flowers, they convey the atmosphere of a luxury yacht. Nautical theme flowers are best when arranged in tidy, ship-shape forms.

Celebrating Color
Rainbow Sherbet. From raspberry-colored zinnias to bright yellow craspedia, from pink roses to pretty sweet peas, an abundance of flowers in ice cream colors ensure a variety of flower decorations that celebrate the hot, color-blocking trend. In past years, these bright colors might have been toned down with a generous mix of white colors, but this year, their strong contrasting shades are making a bold, unabashed design statement on their own.

Popular Purple. Nature blessed flowers with a broad array of colors that fall into the purple category. Shades can range from soft lavender to eye-popping fuchsia. Purple blooms shine when presented as specimen flowers surrounded by soft trailing greenery. A single scabiosa flower, accented with a few cheerful touches of echinops and foliage evokes the feeling of a spring forest. Generous bunches of stock flowers celebrate purple too, conveying the look of an English garden in full bloom.
Go Green. One of the strongest trends in flower decorations are all-green arrangements. Green complements a wide variety of decorative styles, but is particularly charming in rooms decorated in natural and casual styles. Green floral arrangements get their charm from a mix of textures and shapes in both the flowers and the foliage.
Selections of flowers are typically just as extensive as the largest brick-and-mortar flower shop. Often, fresh, online flowers can be ordered and delivered within 24 hours.

Including elements of nature in home décor brings the refreshing and relaxing atmosphere of nature indoors. Bright colors, lots of greenery and softer styles are flower trends that promise to make decorating with flowers this spring inspiring and fun.
