I wanted to introduce you to Karianne and her fabulous home.

Anyone with as many kiddos as I have is always welcome here

and Kari Anne I know ALL about Dust Bunnies–they are our pet.

 She has some “mad” (as in the GOOD kind of “mad”) decorating skills.

The kind of mad decorating skills that causes some people to blog stalk.

mmm hmmmm–it is that beautiful.

Her kitchen has so many gorgeous elements.

Yes I had to go get a paper towel to wipe the drool from my chin.

Not that I was blog stalking or anything.

I LOVE the molding around her windows, the taupe walls and white contrast, the pillar.

I love the bed–I have a four poster rice bed–hmmm I wonder what prince charming would say if I painted it?

I did get new white bedding (and no I haven’t revealed it yet because I am still looking for a few more pieces.)

Miss G4, here at our house, LOVES all things pink and would love to move right in–I am sure.

She was already be used to the Dust Bunnies.

Wait–I haven’t seen any dust bunnies so far.

I just imagine that it abounds all over their house.

Yes!!! I am a fan.  I admit it.

You know there is a difference between a fan and a stalker.

I thought I would share, just in case you all haven’t found Kari Anne’s blog–but who am I kidding-you all know Kari Anne-right.

Kari Anne is whipping up one of my recipes today.

She also just did another room reveal–can you guess which room it is?

Roeshel had painted this adorable mat so I knew it could be done

This hot pad is gorgeous.

I had made a quick run to the Dollar tree and saw this garden mat

Inside the packaging I could not see that it had an area cut out of it so I had to rethink things.

I cut out 3 more… using some square dowels that I had on hand.

 I pushed the dowels into each of my cut out areas.

I painted the sides in a metallic silver and painted the top a mixture of khaki and the silver so the spaces wouldn’t show the yellow through them.

Then I used 2 tubes of my Epoxy Glue (mixing only small sections at a time)

You could hot glue them on as well.

I had my 2 bags of rocks divided–and only laid flat ones onto the glue.

Now I have a cool pot holder OR I can set it by the door and use it as a neat door mat for people to put their muddy shoes.

1 mat = $1

2 bags of rocks = $2

I had the glue and paint on hand.

TOTAL =$3

I did a fun “KIDS” project and posted it at the DIY Club. You all know how popular Chalkboard paint is –you might really like.

I am featuring one of the gals who joined the Linky Follower Party Hop (on Wednesday’s)

Some things she posted about that caught my attention.

My Mother had gotten this and my kids like to look at them.

Front and back has different Marine Invertebrates.

G3 is a MARINE LOVER.

He loves to learn about sea life.  He loves to go to Sea World.

He loves to have me go over every type of Marine Invertebrate on the front and back of the card.

I really like all the varieties of starfish and sea urchins.

I love beachy decor and love all the RED CORAL out there.

I found a resin faux piece of coral but it was rather ugly in its resin state.

In my excitement I forgot to take a picture.

• FIRST I painted it in a FLAT White paint, so the reds would take in varying shades
• I grabbed a variety of red craft paints and went to town painting it.

I allowed some paints to mix, some to be lighter and others darker in order to create a more authentic looking piece.

So pretty.

Who Do you Think You Are?

My mother loves that show.

It isn’t shocking since she loves to research ancestry.

I wish the show would take her on a journey to find additional things she hasn’t been able to find.

She has notebooks and notebooks FULL for all sides, of both her family tree and my Dad’s family tree.

{My Grandmother}

My grandmother (my Dad’s mother) passed away a few years ago and she also loved doing research..  They would share with each other what they had found.

They went on trips back to my Dad’s hometown and would go to the county library and do research.

She could FILL ANCESTRY.com files full of information and pictures.

{Perry}

My Grandmother’s mother (Laura) was married to her first husband and had 2 daughters and a son.

The 2 girls both died at a young age.  Her son was the only one to make it into adulthood.

• Maggie died at 10 years of age
• Perry died at 33
• Iva died at the age of 13

She lost her husband as well.

My Grandmother’s Father (Charles) was married to his first wife.  They had 3 infants that all died as infants (and the records just say they were all believed to be boys).

His wife also died just a few years into their marriage from spinal menangitis.

My Grandmother’s parents – Laura and Charles married and had 2 daughters.

• Lula and she died just after her 2nd birthday.
• A few months after the death of Lula, my Grandmother was born.

So much death for both — spouses and children.

My grandmother adored her big brother.  He was 21 years older than her.  He was in the military.

He was the head cook at the Leavenworth Military Base in Leavenworth, KS.

No adress, just her name and the town and state.

Mother’s Day became an official holiday in 1914

On May 9, 1914 President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation declaring the first national Mother’s Day as a day for American citizens to show the flag in honor of those mothers whose sons had died in war.

Perry was killed in a car accident, riding on a side board of a car.  He was married to Callie, for a short time but she took off for a previous fiance.

Perry never remarried, never had children.

My Grandmother had 3 children (one being my Dad) that all grew to be adults, marry and have children of their own.

The only line in that branch to survive.

Who Do You Think You Are?

I love tracing the kids hands and seeing how much they have grown.

I traced my two littlest kiddos hands on some white paper.

(I had them spread their fingers wide apart)

 and then cut them out.

I grabbed a gray pipe cleaners (a yellow would be cute too) and made flowers from the kids hands for “HAND”made Mother’s Day Lilies (flowers) for their Nanny.
