I mentioned our coffee bar HERE. This house was build in the 70’s and they had a wet bar in the hearth room.

My sister brought up a great idea– make it into a coffee bar and that is where the inspiration began.

You can see the hearth bar in the photos when I was working on my other chalk board post- for our grocery list and leave some love walls.

I posted the recipe for the chalk paint HERE. It is so easy and so much more affordable.

Once you paint – going side to side horizontally, then you want to do at least one more coat going vertically. I do a third- horizontal coat. You want to let it dry – I usually let it dry for at least 24 hours.

Then you want to cure it, so the question I get is “how do you cure chalkboard paint?” It is super easy!

You rub the entire surface with a piece of white chalk.

Then erase. If you see lines go over it again. I erase in straight lines as well as a circular motion to rub that chalk all over the surface.

We just ordered some items for this coffee bar. Another update will be coming soon.
