The FROZEN Birthday Party

by CHERI on February 1, 2014

My little girl turned 7 this year- yikes –how did that happen.

So what do you do when you pick the FROZEN theme for your little girls birthday party and everyone is sold out of practically everything OR they haven’t gotten it in yet– you get creative.

#1-The cake– We pulled out her frozen characters that she got for Christmas. I decided to do a Winter Wonderland cake BUT there were no icy trees left in the craft stores so I got ice cream cones, covered them in frosting and rolled them in coconut. I picked up some jeweled picks and those became my trees. Her candles are silver so they look icy. We had Target do the cake and I just had white on white and had them add the snowflake rings. I added the “Sixlet” turquoise chocolate balls and we got edible glitter and edible dust and little snowflakes.

#2- we ordered cupcakes and had snowflake rings put on all of them. I took the rings off some of them so each kid would get a ring in their gift bags.

#3- The cupcakes that had the rings removed became MELTED SNOWMEN cupcakes- using a marshmallow, black frosting, a butterscotch chip for the nose, mini mm’s for the buttons and fruit roll up cut in half for the scarf and pretzels for the arms.

#4- buckets of everything needed to build a snowman– 1st-Snowballs-russian tea balls 2nd-pretzels sticks for the arms 3rd- mms for the eyes and buttons 4th- Reece’s cups- snowmen hats 5th- carrots for the nose (and veggie dip to go with them)- the glass sleigh is something I got when my grandmother died.

#5 I drew snowmen faces on cheese sticks and added a scarf.

#6 Paper straws- icicles

#7- some Princess JEWELS- jolly ranchers

#8 a dual drink dispenser- one side filled with MELTED SNOWMEN–ice water (we will provide Mio drops if anyone wants their water flavored. The other side will be GLACIER PUNCH-Blue Raspberry Punch.

#9 We were lucky enough to score some of the FROZEN plates and cups but had to get some turquoise ones as well because they didn’t have enough.

I did a light aqua table cloth, added a sheet of fake snow and found some silver letters in the $1 section at Target. We also hung some snowflakes from the light fixture.
