Fall Foliage

by CHERI on November 2, 2009

Before I post my favorites (next post) and give you an update on the bench mcklinkyparty I wanted to show of some fall pictures.  When we first arrived in Missouri on Oct 8 the leaves were just barely starting to turn.  We couldn’t have been there at a more perfect time because they just got more and more beautiful and then the last few days the leaves began dropping, some were totally bare by time we left and others were still holding their leaves.

The most amazing trees, for us this year, were the Bradford Pear Trees.  We have NEVER seen them change into the colors they displayed this year.
Some were multi colored with greens, golds, oranges, reds and plums while others had  only 2 or 3 of the color variations.  Some trees would be all yellow with plum but then there would be one branch jetting out of the tree and it would be all orange.  It really was amazing.  The first 2 pictures are Bradford Pears and you can see the variation of colors:

We drove the kids by our old house, the one they consider HOME.
We were staying at my brother-in-laws rental house, it sits on a few acres and almost every night we saw 3 deer, that lived in the woods around his house, out in the yard, playing or eating grass.  The kids looked for the deer each night.  He isn’t too far from a lake and it was nice and relaxing driving by the lake as we would be out and about.

One day on the way over to my sister’s house we stopped to take a picture of this tree.
