I made CHOCOLATE PUMPKINS, Party Information, Meet Sara from Twillypop, Celebrate the Holidays

by CHERI on November 5, 2009

I made Chocolate Pumpkins and then added some “sugary crystals”–otherwise known as glitter.  I made the berry swag.  I ripped apart different berry swags that I had, some are from the dollar store.  It doesn’t have to be expensive to look amazing. When you find something you like or after the holidays you pick up some that are marked down, save them. It is so easy to make your own. I took some thin wire, I use when I make Miss G4s hair bows, and wrapped it around the stems. I moved some leaves and glued them down to cover the wire.  Wah –La–super cheat, super easy, and personally I think it is Super Gorgeous.

Some of the leaves were really bright green and it didn’t look right for fall so I got out my burgandy colored craft paint, squirted a little into a paper bowl (gotta keep a stock of these on hand. I dipped my paint brush in some water, then into the paint. You don’t want too much water on your brush but you don’t want only paint. Only having paint will create a burgandy colored leaf, what you want is to have the color coming through the green. If you get too much paint on the leaf, just get a little water on your paint brush and rub it over the leaf and wipe some off with a paper towel. I painted the front and back of each leaf.

I have to let you in on a secret, the pumpkins are taped down. The berry swag made them fall over. I need to find a little urn to put them in. I’ll probably have to put a dowel rod up the center of the pumpkins but I really do LOVE how they came out.

I made these tags and I am thinking about hanging it with the berries, maybe saying “GIVE THANKS”

I know this picture is a little blurry and I posted it on purpose–it is a peak at the project I will show you on Monday for the new Its So Very Creative party.

I have a question–how do you enlarge your pictures? For those of you who have them bigger than mine are.

I NEED to figure out how to add a sign up for a newsletter–so I can let you gals know when there is big news–like a give-a-way coming. Oh by the way there is a give-a-way coming–next week at Its So Very Cheri.

One of my followers contacted me about her holiday give-a-way. Go check it out.

I want to introduce you to Sara from Twillypop.

She is one of my new vendors that came on last month. I will be doing features of each of my advertisers at different times, just so you can get to know them a little better and see some of their products.

She is so creative. I love her necklaces.

This is the intro on her etsy store:
Welcome to my store! This store sprung out of a single idea for a single type of necklace and I decided to run with it! I’m a stay at home mom of three who digs fashion, but have very little time or energy to put into thinking too hard about my appearance. My favorite outfit is distressed jeans, a cool tee, heels and some funky accessories. I have found accessories to be key because they take so little extra time and energy to throw on. You’re probably wondering why I’ve digressed but I have said all this to say…..I try to keep one eye on what is happening in fashion, and the other on the reality of and need for practicality in my life. Often, fashion doesn’t translate well into the life of a stay at home mom. But being a girl is so much fun…..Why should I miss out?
What is going on in the pages of magazines as far as accessories go this fall? I see big, bold,…lots of ribbons and ruffles,…vintagey, glitzy gemstones…..bursts of bright and even, dare I say NEON colors..Okay, I can do some of this…
Thus was born Twillypop, a line of fun, functional, affordable, trendy at times, timeless at others, line of necklaces. I’ll be adding new ones all the time, the possibilities are endless…..I’d love to hear from anyone who has a combination they’d like to see. Let the fun begin!

Here are a few of my favorites.

I have 2 new parties actually I guess it is really 3 new parties.  The Traditions Party is about sharing your favorite Thanksgiving traditions and recipes. It is a one time party that will last until Sunday the 22nd and then I will do another one for Christmas.
Grab the button, post it on your blog, and then be sure to join in on the fun.

The other one time party was created, due to the fact that I had so many e-mails about people wanting to go make their own tassels and I thought how fun to have a place to show and tell what everyone has made, so grab that button as well and get the word out.  If you do a post you might want to add this link to the tutorial I did, so people know how to make them tutorial-How to make your own tassel
For the last bit of party info–I am changing the name of my Monday Party and the overall theme.  It’s So Very Creative encompasses Knock Offs as well as all other creative projects.  I hope you like the new button

There were only 2 entries this week and the funny thing is they were both burlap.  Burlap is so inexpensive and can be used in so many ways.

Grab the I’ve been featured button.  thanks ladies.

If you like what you see, click to follow me, leave me a comment with your blog name and be sure to let me know you followed me and I will come over and do the same.
