Hand made Cloche and a pedastal vase

by CHERI on November 15, 2009

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am gonna brag on my 4 kiddos for a minute.  All four have been asked to model for a fashion show, here on the boardwalk.  It’s funny because it is getting cooler but it is beautiful weather, not cold at all.  It’s been in the 70s. and the kids aren’t too sure about having to wear sweatshirts. It is this coming weekend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am so thrilled with how my hand made cloche and pedastalled vase came out.

I had picked this up a few months ago at a thrift store and thought if I take it apart
I could make that into a cool cloche. I picked up a knob but there was too much space on the top of it.

The other day I was at JoAnn’s and picked up a bag of wooden spools.
I sawed a piece off and painted it, then glued it on with some Gorilla Glue.

Then I added the knob

I taped it down while it set up and dried.

Then I painted it, did a little sanding
and here is how she came out.
Now I just need to find something for it to sit on–I love how it came out

Then I glued 2 more spools together, and taped them while they dried.

So then I Gorilla Glued them to the old base, it couldn’t have fit more perfectly.

I painted them

It needs a little something–doesn’t it
I hot glued the beads on then added Gorilla Glue from the underneath side.

then I started going over it with more paint
After cutting a piece of wood and adding to the top fir a platform— here is how it came out.
I LOVE IT TOO

20 Debbie @ ribbonwoodcottage.blogspot.com November 16, 2009 at 7:56 am

Cheri, I had to laugh, with all of us bloggers buying Gorilla glue and spray paint…we should buy stock in those companies! They've got to be making money because of us!
I love what you have done. How fun to put these things together. I love the cloche you made. Today I'm headed to the thrift store to find some goodies to (Gorilla) glue together. Hubby is forever asking what I'm gluing together today! hahaha. Anyhow, this is loads of fun!
Have an incredible day!
Blessings,
Debbie
