I will get all of my favs up later-I have not been feeling good today-sorry. I am still having problems with Google so keep coming by.
Here are the pictures from when I was in charge of the big decorating project at our church. You can read about this overwhelming CHRISTMAS DECORATING PROJECT HERE
Lots and lots of trees to coordinate. We wrapped everyone of those boxes to go around that middle tree. The second one is of my 2 big boys when they weren’t so big, they are under the tree with their cousin-aren’t they cute?
If you click on the pictures they will enlarge and you can see some of the details I am talking about.

The white angel tree was for the nursery and the wings are baby hands for each baby. The next tree was the 3 and 4 year old tree and they made each ornament on the tree.

The school aged kids trees–Away in a Manger and the other used hands with each child’s picture in the hand

The Jingle Bell tree–The kids pictures were then decorated by each child with beads and bells. The tree topper is 2 styrofoam balls covered in gold glitter and “X’s” on the bottom so they looked like bells.
The Awana Tree was decorated in crayon colors and the kids decorated ornaments for the tree. Another Tree from the Nursery Dept-for the Toddlers–do you see that tree topper-sorry it got cut off

At the side entry, where most people entered the building to head to the Grand Foyer, is where the trees began and then went all the way up the hallway to the Grand Foyer and down the other Hall way.
The First two trees that anyone saw was the Boy Toy Tree and the Girl Toy Tree. We had so much fun doing these trees for the kids. I loved watching little boys or girls standing in front of the tree just looking. One day I saw a little boy laying under the tree just looking at every ornament. His Mom came over and thanked me for making it a wonderful event for the kids and that their kids talked about it on the way to church each week.
We used colorful plastic SLINKIES as the GARLAND

Of course the little girl tree was filled with fluff and lots of pink and BOA Garland.

The first tree was the Red and Gold Tree. The M & M’s tree was after a ladies ministry program titled m-n-m’s which stood for Mom’s and Mentors. The ladies all helped with the decor on that tree.

The Light house tree was filled with tags so people could adopt needy families and deocrated with lighthouse and nautical decor. The next tree was for the phone ministry for the TV program on Sunday Mornings. The GARLAND was the twisted or curled cord that came out the end of wall phones. The topper was old TV antenna and they used all kinds of old cell phones etc.

This was the GOLD tree done by one of the Adult Sunday School classes. you can see the 6 foot stockings and the Candy Garland I made-like the miniature candy I made for my kids this year. That ledge was all decorated too. I had to climb up very long ladders and walk around up there and decorate all of that and the scary part was coming back down. The next tree was the Angel tree.

This was another Ledge that we did. My sweet friend Alethea and her hubby had acquired this awesome nativity from her hubby’s childhood church. They arrived in town and went to the Christmas Eve service and noticed a plastic nativity out front. The old nativity was gone. It had been used for as long as his father and grandfather could remember. They inquired about it and the church was going to throw it away. They asked if they could have it. It was huge and went across the entire ledge The detail was so gorgeous. It was wonderful to be able to use it.
The next tree is the Patriotic tree-for all those serving our country.

This was the Lodge Tree and they did cranberry GARLAND and used a wool blanket. They had dried hydrangeas in the tree and Moose ornaments. It was more beautiful than it even shows in the picture. The blue and white tree was THE WINTER WONDERLAND TREE full of sleds and snowmen, scarves and ice skates.

The Santa Tree and the Gingerbread tree. The Gingerbread tree was in red lights and was extra pretty when it was dark. They used the wicker balls to go over some of the lights like I have on my sons baseball themed tree-in the dark they make the lights look so cool

My son at the Lighting of the Tree event, getting ready to turn to lights on for the Big Center Tree-THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT TREE. You can see the train running. We had a huge platform build for the tree to be on so it was the Tallest Tree. It was filled with beaded fruit.
More of the Fruit of the Spirit Tree (by the Womans Ministry)

My boys and niece sitting at the Player Grand Piano and my 2 oldest boys with Mr and Mrs Claus on the sled made by a builder in our church. He did an amazing job. Behind Santa you can see the
“dead” tree we painted white and covered in lights for the stage decor.

This was the table I decorated for the event. The next 2 pictures are of my boys with the horse reindeer reins around their neck. We tried to make everything as authentic and tried not to leave out any details. Unbelievably I was given the task of this project just 6 weeks before pulling it off the first year. Every year after I spent 6-7 months planning the next year and each year we added to it.

The same guy who built the sled, made the fireplace. The logs inside looked like there was a real fire going.
I sewed te snowman that sat on the stage and it was 5-6 feet tall.He sat on the stage as well.

Here is a ledge that I made the Gingerbread Village–out of cardboard boxes. I made the stained glass windows out of cellophane colored paper. I had a lot of wonderful ladies and men who helped with this project. This would never get done by one person. I was just blessed to be the person in charge of orchestrating it all. I did get my hands dirty and work on a lot of projects as well-I am not one to point out what needs done and not be working harder than everyone else I am asking to do things. The second year we had a couple of builders add a rustic stable and empty manger.

I hope you enjoyed the tour. I was in charge of this event until we moved away and even orchestrated the event, helping the gal who took it over the first year, the following year the church was under an add on a didn’t do the event.
