I am adding this story to the Its So Very NOT QUITE RIGHT linky party
Kids do say the funniest things. I used to speak twice a month at a ladies event for our church in Kansas City and one of the ladies was telling us a funny story. Mr Rogers (you know “its a beautiful day in my neighborhood guy”) had just passed away the week before this tragedy hit their family. They had gone down to Branson, MO to go to Silver Dollar City and have a fun week, with her husband’s parents. They had just been there a day or two and were walking through the parking lot of a restaurant, to go have dinner when her Mother-in-Law fell to the ground and died (of a heart attack) right there in front of their family, & her husband. It was shocking to the kids to watch their grandma die, plus the emotions of going from the excitement of having a fun week, to heading home early to plan a funeral.  They were all sitting around the table, one night and they were talking about their grandma, everyone was crying and all of a sudden one of her sons said “Mom, when Grandma got to heaven, do you think Mr. Rogers said ‘Welcome to my neighborhood’. She said they all got a really good, much needed laugh.
