Hi everyone. Lisa here from Serendipity Chic Design. I am a few months new to the whole blogging scene, but loving every minute of it. I don’t remember how, but Cheri was one of the first bloggers I came across. As I am sure you will all agree, she is one of the nicest gals here in blogland. I was so pleased and excited when she invited me to guest post here at It’s So Very Cheri.

I live in Connecticut with my husband and 3 children. We live in a country home literally in the middle of the woods. Although we have been in the house for almost 13 years, it is never ending work with a ton of maintenance.

I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom which gives me plenty of time to work on renovations, furniture painting, crafting, and items for my Etsy store. Everything is housed in my shed I like to call “my shop”.

I can’t wait for all the snow to melt so I can landscape and plant flowers in the boxes…..

I pride myself on the fact that I do all of our decorating on a very tight budget. I would say 95% of my home comes from thrift stores, tag sales, craig’s list, etc. I do not like to pay more than $20 for even the largest piece of furniture. I will spend around $50 if it is something substantial such as a hutch. Our home was built in the 60’s as a weekender home. Therefore, the insulation and windows are terrible. We are going room by room and gutting everything from floor to ceiling for a more efficient home. It’s taking a while, but we are finally making some headway. My favorite makeover was the master bedroom. Many will think I am crazy, but the walls are painted “french beret” which is almost black.

The other rooms we have made over can be seen HERE.

I try to post daily whether it is a room or furniture makeover or a tutorial for a fun unique project…..Here are some of my favorites….

Shutter wall shelf

Architectural wall art

Reupholstered wing chairs

Eclectic chic coffee table

I get a little picture happy sometimes, so I will stop myself there. I would love for all of you to stop by. I have enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful people. Thanks to you Cheri for having me. You’re the best!

Thanks for featuring, Lisa! She is such a creative and talented gal. I found her blog early on and it’s been fun watching her house transform. I’m so impressed with how it’s all done on a budget. Love the vintage crib magazine rack… missed that one. She is a sweetheart and such an inspiration!

Wishing you both a happy Thursday!
🙂 Michelle
