The Colors of Our Fall 2011

I had to hurry and get all of my Halloween decor down and decorate for Thanksgiving because it won’t be up for long. I will actually start decorating for Christmas next Friday.

We LOVE the beautiful Midwest AUTUMN months. We love all of the colors, the crisp cool air. A fire in the fireplace.

It doesn’t feel much like “FALL” when you step outside and it looks like this:

The flowers are always in full bloom and bees are always out.

This little guy was jumping all over my decor as I was putting the front lanai together.

I have to pretend like it is AUTUMN weather and enjoy the colors. (No fires, no crisp eveing walks with a Fall sweater on…)

I love the chalkboard tags from Canvas Corp–reusable–love the shapes… just so fun to use. I used their papers, twine and burlap star as well for the banner.

Those are the pumpkins I hand painted a few years ago–I also painted the dollar store leaves to look more authentic.

I built the POST and still love it. It is so versatile and I just love decorating with it.

I made a wreath and hung it on the post.

When I walk out onto the front lanai- I can pretend that everything outside is not bright and sunshiny and pretend for a moment that it is FALL.

Cheri- It’s so beautiful!! I am an LA girl and know about palm trees and hot and sunny, but here in Maine, fall is heavenly. I love how you have your beautiful autumnal lanai. You are such a clever one!! Happy Thanksgiving..

Cheri – Thanks for linking your beautiful post to the Traditions N~S~E~W Liinky party! I love how you created your own little autumn colored space in your lanai even though you are surrounded by the Florida lushness of palms and orchids! I used to try to put fall mums in pots at my front door in Virginia but with the heat and humidity they never lasted very long! The plums and oranges you used here are so beautiful too 🙂 Pinning this onto my Traditions Thanksgiving Linky Party Pinboard!
