Once upon a time in a land far far away lived a little girl
in a pretty “Shabby Chic” bedroom.
Her Mom made her a pretty chandelier for her room.
She made each teacup for the chandelier
She custom ordered rose chenille and made lampshades for each light.
The Mommy made all of the fair maiden’s bedding and curtains
Her Daddy (now the KING OF HEARTS to the fair maiden) made her a mirror from scratch. He’s pretty awesome. The awesome Mommy bought shabby chic onlays to add to the mirror to give it extra awesomeness.
The mom went to one of the family farm houses and got a dresser that was in need of a LOT OF TLC. She stripped it, filled in holes, sanded, primed, painted and shabby chic’d it up to perfection.
Then the family moved to a far away land. Miss G4 grew up to be 4 years old. One day she decided if Mom does all of these fabulous projects maybe I should do one too.
She got out her crayons and went to work …
Not only on her dresser but also on the antique pie chest.
The first thing I had to do was sand over the entire surface.
1–I had to remove the wax from the crayon so my paint would adhere.
2- We all know WHITE paint is never the same so I had to completely repaint both pieces.
I typically remove all hardware before sanding and painting but on the pie hutch I did not do that. I was going to go over it with some more paint so I left it on. I did remove the new hardware we purchased for her dresser before I sanded and painted that piece.
Have you ever wonder how easy it is to paint using a battery powered roller? Wagner asked me to review their TurboRoll. It is an all in one-paint roller and paint container. I am always excited to try new paint products–we do a lot of projects around here so I was on board.

I was so excited to try it and wanted to try it out on the bathroom but my paint hasn’t arrived yet and I couldn’t wait any longer to try it out. They have generously offered one for ITS SO VERY CHERI readers! It was super easy to put together. It comes with a lid that has a funnel straw piece that draws the paint up into the roller tube. You just push the buttons and it does all of the work and when you run out of paint in the tube you just put the tube over the funnel, push the button and it fills it up again. No mess pouring it in to the tube. It is completely battery controlled. You can either push a button to paint or do it manually. AWE-SOME!!! I read through the instructions and put the piece together–pretty easy (I had it put together in about 3 minutes). The instructions were easy to follow and self explanatory. There was absolutely no learning curve it just made rolling on paint easier without having to have a paint pan–so it made it twice as easy. I can only imagine that the next time I need to paint ceilings-this will make the process so much easier.
Yep that’s pink paint–we added a little touch of pink to the pie pantry.
The incorporated paint tube holds enough paint to paint an area 7 x 10 on one fill, reducing the number of back-bending trips back and forth to the paint tray. Paint is effortlessly supplied to the roller cover with the push of the power button. Powered by 4-AA batteries the TurboRoll will paint up to 15 gallons on one set of batteries. Manual override feature for powered or manual use. For medium-sized painting projects that require extra reach.
Clean up was very pretty easy. I took everything apart, cleaned it up (with water) and stored it back in its box for the next project. It required about the same amount of cleanup as a pan and roller. The roller always takes more time to clean up–because of the amount of paint that they hold. The rest of the tube cleaned up easily.

Oh wow! I would love to have that roller under my Christmas tree because at the first of the year I have three rooms to redo and this would make quick work of all the painting to be done! Thanks for the chance to win!

That is so cool! I’ve never seen anything like it! We always have a painting project going on and not having to clean up the paint tray would be a nice change! My next project is painting our sitting room/down the basement steps (meaning I’ll be on a ladder – so this would be so helpful!). Please count me in!

Oh my goodness! How helpful would this be for painting my ceiling in the basement. Brilliant!!!
I am about to redo my little guys room and there will be a LOT of paint involved… this would absolutely help!

After a year of remodeling the country beach house (which still has quite a few rooms that need to go from builder beige), we just bought a foreclosed city condo that is in pretty rough condition — lots of painting involved!

Such a cutie! I understand your plight. When my daughter was 5, I repainted the entire house…yes, ceilings, walls, trim, louvered doors, you name it. About a week after finishing and finally being able to walk again with a straight back, she came and got me, soooo excited! She had colored all over one wall…with various colors. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry…I think I did a little of both! 🙂
I would LOVE to paint my bedroom so please enter me in the giveaway.

I plan on painting my master bedroom. It is green now and has been that way for over 7 years. Now I would like to paint it brown because I have white trim and white furniture so I think it would really pop. I need to win this!
I would use it on an armoire I need to paint!!! Awesome giveaway! 🙂
