Shabby Chic Rosette Pillow Sham

My little 5 year old found this pillow sham that I had started for her bed, 5 years ago.

It is almost finished.  It just needs ones more flap finished.

I had put it away thinking I would get to it and forgot all about it.

She walked in tonight beaming with her discovery.

She wanted to put a pillow in it and put it on her bed immediately.
So I know what one of my projects will be–finish the pillow.

How to make a pillow sham:
Cut one piece of fabric a couple of inches bigger all the way around, than the size of a standard pillow.
For the back you will cut 2 pieces so they overlap each other in the back, so you can slip the pillow in and not have it fall out. (that is the part I need to finish)
I added a pleated ruffle and a rosette on top.

For the Rosette:

I ripped pieces of fabric.  I started in the middle of the rosette and began turning it and stitching as I went until I had a rosette shape. Then I snipped into the fabric.  Wash your pillow case and dry it to get the shabby chic fabric look going and that is it.

It was that easy.
I left my edges on the rosette raw because I wanted a shabby chic look.
