I got 4 of the Canvas Shopping bags from Canvas Corp. I wanted to make them a little snazzier.
I went to Joann’s and picked up a couple of coordinating fabrics, thread, and some buttons.
I had the cotton ribbon on hand.
I added the lighter fabric to the top of 2 of the bags.
I added the dark red paisley fabric to the bottom of 2 of the bags.
Now I have 4 pretty Re-Usable Shopping Bags to take with me on my shopping trips and they are good for the environment.
They are nice and sturdy to carry all of my vegetables for all of my Lean Healthy Meals that I am eating on my new life style plan.
Have you checked out my post about how I am doing on my weight lost journey?

these turned out so pretty! I’m always trying to think of ways to “upstyle” items like plain bags or pillow covers. A lot easier than starting from scratch….especially with sewing projects!

Cheri, I love the quality of those Canvas Corp bags! I have a few and they really stand out above the ones you typically find at some craft stores. I love the way you embellished them! Beautiful! What technique did you use to attach the fabric? They look so professionally done.

Jenn,
I sewed them on. I was going to use wonder under to attach them but Joann’s didn’t have the 2 sided so I just pulled out my sewing machine.
Thanks for your sweet replies.
Useful and pretty! Amazing idea Cheri!
