My favorite lady is…

by CHERI on February 21, 2010

Who is your Favorite Woman of the Bible. I do not even know the name of lady that I admire. Not because I don’t remember, not because I didn’t take the time to look it up (that doesn’t even sound like me), no it is because the Bible doesn’t tell us who she is. So if the Bible doesn’t tell us who she is and I admire her so much-WHY. What is so amazing about her?

She is who I aspire to be. This lady has been my favorite lady of the Bible since I was a teenager. Are you curious yet?

Romance

Her husband thinks the world of her and she is an amazing wife in every sense of the word and yet we are not told her name.
She is an international business woman and still sews, cooks, cleans, gardens and she is “the hostess with the most-est”. She is an investor and a realtor. She is also a philanthropist. She knows what is the latest fashion styles and knows how to make a knock off. She is an entrepreneur, and a teacher-she is who you would go to, to ask THE QUESTION when you have a question and don’t know what to do or how to fix it and you respect her enough to take her advise, she knows her Bible. She also, manages the family’s affairs, and takes care of the kids. Her husband is “Tough Stuff” in town. They are well respected.

Who is this woman–we know it isn’t Martha Stewart-she doesn’t quite fit the bill and she isn’t in the Bible anyway. I challenge you–if you are a Martha follower to follow this gal, CUZ MArtha AINT GOT ANYTHING ON HER. (Did this homeschool mom just use the word AINT)

This woman is the Proverbs 31 woman.
Prove 31:10-31 ( New KJV)
Over the next few weeks I want to dissect this passage and see if we can challenge ourselves to be all we can be.

10 Who can find a noble (or virtuous) wife?
She is worth far more than rubies.

Estate Pin

Let’s look at verse 10 today.

Cake 1

This passage lays out for us what an extraordinary wife is–she is the frosting on the cake,

strawberry and whip cream

the cream of the crop or

the crowning glory.

Crowns are very popular in decor these days aren’t they? It makes me take a new look at those crowns.

All A Blur 3

This passage lays out what we should be teaching our boys to look for in a wife and what our girls should aspire to be, WHAT WE NEED TO BE.

Rubies In The Rough

Shouldn’t something more rare, be more valued and treated so? Rubies are not impossible to find but it is difficult to find a good quality one. Did you know that most rubies and emeralds, in jewelry stores, although REAL, are man made. They make them in a lab, putting them under great pressure and heat and in a short period of time they have gems without all the flaws. They make diamonds in the same way but for some reason people don’t consider them to be REAL.

Gems

They are in some jewelry stores but not all -YET. The man made ones are less expensive and without flaws. So to walk into a jewelry store and find beautiful rubies that are mined from the ground, that have good qualities of color and without flaws is a much more difficult task.

Wow, that is so weird. I was just thinking today that I would like to look at this verse, one week per verse. So cool that you are doing this. I might share my own thoughts on my blog but I will definitily send them here too. Thank you for this. I am so excited to hear your thoughts on this amazing woman!
