An Ornament Party

by CHERI on December 7, 2010

I LOVE ORNAMENTS

I have hundreds and love finding new treasures.

As we pull out the ornaments each year I love hearing our kids, as we pull out each one, say “Oh this is my favorite”. We hear that as almost every ornament comes out of their boxes or as we unwrap them from their tissue paper.

We buy new ornaments every year.
We make new ornaments every year.
We let the kids make new ornaments each year.
We also collect Hallmark Cards “series” ornaments for each of our kiddos.
My Dad retired from Hallmark as an artist and so we receive new ornaments every year.
When we lived in the Midwest I had FAVORITE craft shows I would go to and get one of a kind ornaments as well.
Since living in Florida we have acquired some beach themed ornaments.

40,000 light later and hungreds of ornaments on the tree, I noticed the kids had put a longer branch in the wrong place.  Oh well it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful and enjoy it.  (note to self–double check next year)

Add my button to your post so others can find the party.

This party does not require that you do any type of project.

All you have to do is take photos of your favorite ornaments.
You can add as many as you like.

This party will be open till Dec 24, 2010

I will show you some of our favorites each day between now and Christmas Eve (in a separate post).

The button is one of the ornaments that we made.

Follow Me on Pinterest This is a Hallmark Ornament.  The trains really work and run on the track and the transformer  really works too, reversing the direction of the trains.  You can see the Hallmark High School Musical one as well and a Basketball Ornament that I got at one of my favorite shops in Overland Park, KS.  All 3 boys have a different ball, one has a baseball and the other a football and Miss G4 got ballet slippers.

Another Hallmark ornament.  The light stain glasses brick church.  I wrap my lights all the way in to the middle of the tree on each branch.  The tree has 40,000 lights this year and it could use about 10,000 more, the back is a little thinner.

I bought these for each of the kids a couple of years ago at one of my favorite craft shows in Lee’s Summit, MO.  This group always makes such cool ornaments.  I have several from them on my tree.

This is a blog hop so spread the fun.

How timely! I just did a post on ornaments! Just linked up. Thanks for hosting. We usually get a 7-ish foot tall tree every year, and it’s getting REALLY crowded, lol! I can’t stop buying ornaments!
